Rescinding a "upgraded" Hilton Max contract with deed changes

We have owned at the Mar Brisa Hilton Vacation Club for about 6 years. Two days ago we went to a presentation and ended up "upgrading" to the Hilton Max level with a purchase of additional points. In the process we changed the deed, from the old one to a new one. Second thoughts lead us to want to rescind, using the State of California Notice of Cancellation Rights page we received in the paperwork. Question - if we rescind are we going to have any problems with the deed? Rescinding a new contract I understand, but will there be any problems with getting everything back to what we had previously?

no, they will just revert you back to your prior ownership. Follow the directions in your contract.

One more question - on the California Notice of Cancellation Rights page it says you can send the notice in to the given address, fax it, or hand delivery. If I did Fax, is that enough, or would you recommend registered mail also?

Make sure to follow the directions in the contract versus the California guidance. Some properties have a page that you just sign and send back, others don't. If they don't, then they should have an address to send it to. Send it certified USPS before the rescind deadline in the contract. Include the owner names, property, sign date, contract number, and state that you want to rescind and have everyone who is in the contract, sign it. You an also fax, if the contract provides one, but also send certified USPS so that you get confirmation that it was received. You need to send it by the rescind deadline but they don't have to receive it by then.

California has everything on the page they create for each sale. But, it couldn't hurt to send the other info in the email. Thanks again.
