Hi,
Recently, I purchased a timeshare in Mexico & sent a cancelation email & registered post requesting to rescind my contract within 5 days of purchase.
Can you please advise on this how to get back my down payment? Should I dispute the payment on my card? Is there necessary to give the reason for the cancelation?

Your refund should be returned to the same credit card that they charged it to. It shouldn't be necessary to dispute the charge, but it wouldn't hurt to call the customer service number on the back of the card and alert them to the situation. They might have a process for your protection.
It is not necessary to list a reason for your cancellation. It's your right, and you are just exercising it.

Good Luck!

Jim

Thank you Jim for your response! Appreciate it.!

Hi Jim,
Good afternoon! Inspite of sending 2nd email for cancelation they have not refunded still. Today they have charged me for monthly installment. Can I dispute please advise.
Thank you waiting for your reply.

Call your credit card and make a fraud claim.

Call your credit card company immediately. Tell them precisely what is happening. Give them every scrap of information -- when you bought, how long the cancellation period is, when you sent the rescission email. Offer to forward the email you sent to cancel. (And this would be a dandy time to go through your paperwork and see what the cancellation instructions are -- if any.)

Don't send them any more money. And if you are auto-paying this, have your credit card company cancel the card and change the number.
