My husband and I are considering buying a Marriott timeshare at Marbella Beach Resort on resale.
Can anyone recommend an official website that can deal with this and do they deal with all the legal documentation etc?
Any personal recommendation would be great thanks.

Most websites are just classifieds - then you have to use a licensed timeshare closing company to handle the escrow and transfer.

Ebay has the cheapest prices, but if you aren't comfortable with the process, there are 2 or 3 reputable Marriott resale brokers that are recommneded here regularly.

Check out the TUG Timeshare business ratings - under the Buying, Selling, Renting forum, for recommended brokers. A broker will cost more, but they will also guide you through the whole process, which can be very helpful the first time.

Here is our Advice page - I recommend that you do some research about the buying process itself. - http://tug2.net/timeshare_advice/tug_timeshare_advice.shtml

Once you know the product inside/out Ebay is by far the best place to buy in my opinion. However, dropping low ball offers on Redweek (and other similar sites) can work also. For redweek you have to offer about 50% of asking prices as the asking prices are grossly inflated above reality.

I have personally purchased 2 resale weeks at Marriott Son Antem through Travel & Leisure Group in the last two years. Both purchases were very professionally handled and I was extremely pleased with the prices I paid.

If you visit their WEB site you will get all the information you need.

All purchase monies were secured and as agents T&L do not take upfront fees from sellers. They charge a commission - just like a real estate agent in the UK and also charge a small fee to purchasers. T&L also have a legal dept, and they will deal with all the paperwork and also ensure that the deeds are recorded and registered with Marriott etc.

Their Postal address in the UK is

Talas House, 47-48 Ballingdon Street,
Sudbury, Suffolk, CO10 2BX, England

My contact at Travel & Leisure is Steve Frankland.

If you want more information PM me and I will get back to you.

This person is based in Cornwall in the UK - US based resellers are going to be of no use to him/her buying in Europe. They would be muich better to deal with a reputable UK/European based agent.

Agree. I also will recommend to use UK agent mentioned. Deed/RTU registration is not as smooth in European countries. No offense but I do not recommend to do it via US agent.

Thanks for all the information.
We have contacted Travel and LEisure and found Steve Frankland very helpful and fingers crossed we will soon be in the process of buying at Marriotts Marbella Beach Club.

How much for a Resale?

Can I ask my some opinions on how much I should expect to pay for a resale at Marriott Marbella Beach?

We want a 2 bed apartment for 1 week per year in the Gold season.

Many thanks

Hi Minnie - I moved your most recent question to this thread. If you have any more questions on the same general topic, please post them in this thread, instead of starting a new one, to keep all the info. in one place. - Thanks
