I recently purchased points resale off of e-bay. The seller will make a guest reservation for me, but I do not know how to find out what availablility there is. I am a teacher and with school starting soon, my choices will be limited. I would like to visit Glacier Canyon in the Dells either over MEA (which is a school break in Minnesota October 15-19.) or any part of Thanksgiving or Christmas break. They are both quite lengthy this year. (Nov. 22 - 29 and Dec. 20-Jan. 4.) Other choices would be Branson or the New Resort in Gatlinburg Tennessee.

Is there a way for me to find out what things are available when? Wyndham will not give me availability. I will just ask the owner to check I guess but if anyone is privy to this information and is inclined to check it for me, I would be much appreciative!

Thanks a bunch, I'm learning!

Debbie

Just submit a request question to Tuggers that own at Wyndam, and we would be happy to help you out.

Those are both very hard to get times, as you can image. You may be too late for 2008 bookings.

If you give me a little while I will go and take a look if there is any 2008 availability remaining.

School Breaks, summer and holiday weeks are very very high demand weeks in Wyndham, you often need to book those as soon as the window for booking opens.

Just trying to level set your expectations.

Glacier Canyon has the following

Oct 15th - 2 Nights only. The 60 day mark is coming up fast, (next saturday to be exact, if will like go by then perhaps).

Nov 22 - 4 nights max only, stays of less than 4 nights are available on the 21 to 24. Nothing available over the Actual Thanksgiving Days.

Dec 20 -24 Various 4 Night stays. So you could actually stay over Christmas for this one. However week between Christmas and New Years is all gone already.

So act fast, these are high demand timeframes, as you can tell most of the actual holidays are already booked solid, you can only get a few days before the holiday actually happens, but is still when you have some time off for school holidays.

Thank you very much. I knew those times would be ugly. I'm surprised there is any availability at all. I just don't know what to do with these points if I don't make a reservation somewhere. I know I can deposit them with RCI, but I've got neither a Wyndham account yet or an RCI. I've only owned one Marriott week which trades through II so this is all new to me. I'm afraid by the time all this gets said and done the points won't be worth anything!

Being from flyover land myself I thought there might be availability because who wants to be here that time of year? I hate the cold and would go somewhere further away if I could find decent airfare. It's frustrating to not be able to check availability myself!

How late in the year do I have to deposit them into RCI? Thanks again for your help!

Also, can someone explain the 60 day mark to me?

Prego,

Debbie

You can deposit till the end of the use year. I will do at Dec 1 though. It does take times to process.

Try the resort with a lot of units. Glacier's unit number is not the highest one in the Wyndham resort.

If Airline ticket is afford, try some FL resorts at Thanksgiving.

Give your seller more choices, there will have some, but things does close fast.

60 day on the VIP can take their discount, so a lot of inventory does gone, and gone event before that.

Jya-Ning answer most of your Qs. But I will add some clarification.

I would get your seller to book your unit and ask for a guest certificate from them. That way you will know you get a unit and use some of your 2008 points. There may be a reservation and/or guest cert charge depending on your sellers account activity and level and the number of transactions and guest certs they have and/or have already used.

Transactions are $25 and Guest Certs are $49 (I think).

VIP owners have >300,00 points, VIP Gold have >500,000 points and VIP Platinum owners have >1,000,000 points.

At the 60 day mark two things happen: 1) VIP owners get discounts at 25%, 35% or 50% off the required points based on VIP Level. 2) VIP Platinum owners get free upgrades, if available, also at the 60 day mark. VIP Gold get upgrades at the 45 day mark, and VIP get upgrades at the 30 day mark. Provided upgrades are available. So VIP Platinum owners get 50% off points and an upgrade if available at the 60 day mark.

Hello, I'm bumping this up because I'm a little frustrated right now. Seller of my points (200K) has stated that it will take 5 - 7 days to hear back from them about guest reservation. You may have seen that I am limited to very busy times for the rest of the year as I am a special education teacher.

Thank you for posting available times for Glacier canyon villas Sandy. I would like to send them more options, because I fear that there will be little available there by the time they get to it (although it sure is nice to live close enough to go for just a few nights). If anyone is perusing the Wyndham site, could you check to see what availabliity is in the lower 48 for Thanksgiving week, Dec. 19-Jan 4, and October 15-19? If anything is available for a chuck of that time, could you note the resort and date so I can e-mail it to e-bay seller? I have never made a reservation as I am new at this and I have no idea where there might be availability.

Thanks for your time!

Debbie

If you want some "fun", the Oct 15-19 are the dates for "BikeOctobFest" in Daytona Beach, FL. Ocean Walk is most likely booked out, but last year there was available units at Star Island (Orlando) where I was staying. It is about 70 minute drive up I-4. And there are other Wyndham's in Orlando, too. - but Star Island is very quiet and has an on site spa .... That is also when at Disney you can do the Mickey "Not So Scary" Holloween Party. And there maybe some wine festival at Epcot.

Just ideas ... :D

I checked New Orleans for you 10/15 for 5 nights, since I have heard October is a good month to visit.

Is availability at La Belle Maison in a 1 BR costs 143K points.

Thank you, those are both great choices. I've always wanted to go to New Orleans but have never made it. That's the new resort isn't it? I'll pass that on as one optionl.

And of course, we always love Florida. We own at Marriott Grande Vista and I love the heat and would love to move there!

Thanks Guys!
