Staying in PCB, got a killer deal for a 5 night stay through Southwest. Didn’t know this was a timeshare property. Attended that seminar. Tried selling me 300k points for $50k. Said no. Last guy tried selling Discovery for $4k for 400k points. Discovery doesn’t seem that bad of an option and we are considering it.

I see points selling on eBay for super cheap. If I buy 400k points on eBay will I be able to book all club Wyndham resorts and use RCI or will those resale points be severely limited like other timeshares.

No limits on resale points. I bought 405,000 on ebay and they work just like any other points from the same source of CWS or CWA.

The only availability limit on resale is that it doesn't have access to Club Pass, which is an internal exchange into Worldmark resorts. (However, I've noticed even Worldmark resale contracts are really cheap right now on eBay if that's a consideration.) You can use RCI for weeklong exchanges, but not for RCI Points nightly stays. And resale doesn't have access to VIP (the main benefit of which is discounts and upgrades on bookings within 2 months of check-in), which given the near-zero buy-in I find unnecessary - I simply own the number of points I need for my vacations.

Thank you! Will any club Wyndham points work or do I have to look for something specific. I’m sure some are resort specific or back when they did blocks of time. Access Points? Annual Points. Sorry I see multiple variations on eBay and just want to make sure I’m buying the correct thing. I don’t want to purchase something where I have to stay at the same resort every year.

400,000 discovery points are really just 200,000 points per year that can be used within wyndham during 2 use years (no rci or guest certs). If you are buying resale I would suggest starting off with 210,000 (3 housekeeping credits) or 280,000 (4 housekeeping credits) per year.

The points are points at 10 months. The main difference with CWS vs CWA is with CWA you get more ARP (can book at 13 months or at least further out than just everyone) at more locations. With CWS you get ARP just at the specific resort you own at. You also can get a special assessment for that resort. However, CWA is more expensive than the best CWS for the points in MF each year.

Most people on TUG I think would suggest comparing a lower MF/pt ration CWS with the purchase price to the basically free CWA points. Basically you want to check the cost per thousand points per year.
