Renting unused wyndham points

Hi. I've read a lot of posts but wanted to see if anyone had advice. What's the best way to rent out your unused wyndham points? I've used extra holidays in the past. I've found a couple of other websites that pay a certain amount per 1,000 points but i thought their pay was terrible. Is there any list of the best wyndham locations and dates to book for extra holidays? I know certain locations and dates have the wyndham owner priority access or whatever it's called.

Extra Holidays is terrible. Just use your 2 owner priority exceptions to book Bonnet Creek whenever the WDW crowds are high. The DVC points charts show you what time of year Disney is the busiest because point values are the highest.

Thanks. Do you recommend listing the Bonnet Creek nights on Extra Holidays or somewhere else?
 
Put a post on your personal social media account (a Facebook, twitter, Instagram,etc) letting people know you have points to rent. Better to rent to friends and family then it is to strangers. Extra holidays has a terrible payout and you run the risk of losing points for unrented days, however, they take all the risk. If a buyer disputes the charge on their credit card, Extra holidays will deal with that. If you rent privacy, you have to go through the trouble of proving the buyer got what they paid for which can be difficult to do. It might be a he said, she said situation and the buyer normally wins.

Is there an article somewhere that explains the process of making a wyndham reservation and listing it on redweek? Do you originally make the reservation for yourself and then once someone rents it on redweek do I have to go back to wyndham and change it to a guest reservation?
 
Wouldn’t all timeshares run into problems if big real estate companies bought hundreds and posted on redweek, Airbnb, etc. basically becoming REITs?

My friends and co-workers ask about our vacations and I always mention that I can rent out my points and to let me know if they are planning a vacation anywhere as we have several resorts. For me, I rent at my cost and give them my VIP discount if it works out. I help them plan their trip to a mild extent and recommend the least cost times for them to travel. This builds trust among your co-workers and friends, and will have them coming back to you for subsequent trips especially if their experience is good.

With hotel prices post Covid and inflation....you are doing your friends and family a favor by offering to rent to them. Up to you whether you charge more than your cost.

I would tread carefully with renting Wyndham routinely. Very carefully.

I agree wholeheartedly.

The first thing to avoid is listing a Wyndham reservation on a website where the listing can be tied to the owner. (Along with that, don't use Wyndham's photos -- a copyright issue, not a "commercial use" issue per se.)

The second thing to avoid is excessive use of guest confirmations.

Holding out to the public (posting on public websites) and number of rentals (measured by use of guest confirmations) are the essence of "commercial use." That's my opinion of what constitutes "commercial use" and what is most likely to draw Wyndham's attention to your rentals. Again, in my opinion, that one rents solely to cover maintenance fees is irrelevant and doesn't take one out of the world of "commercial use."
