I am new to renting points and vacationpointexchange and though I've read all the FAQs and tried to search, I am still wondering

1 - how often do buyers/sellers use an actual contract?
2 - for those wanting a contract, is there a template anywhere or does someone have something they're willing to share?
3 - what is typical in terms of the sequence of making payment vs transferring points?

I know both sides will want to be careful to avoid getting scammed and want to be reasonable while protecting myself.

I'll be the seller in this case and appreciate any and all advice including answers to questions I should've asked but didn't. TIA!

I have only rented points from another owner (I haven’t rented my points to someone else.) I used VPE to find the person renting their points (VPE is not a transaction platform, it just helps renters find rentees.)

No contract, just spoke by phone and was comfortable that the person I was dealing with was legit and that they were the owner of the points. Transactions have been perfect every time.
