I'm confused how I'm seeing rental offers for The Grand Luxxe promising amazing views, when we don't actually know what view we'll get until we check in. I'm curious about renting out some weeks. Vidanta says we can not only rent the Luxxe or Mayan with our weeks, but we have additional weeks at The Palace we can rent out...

All the views are "amazing."

I am a MP owner - so I get what I get & sometimes better if we sign up for a presentation.
[ FYI- the best / closest oceanfront view in Nuevo -my opinion is 7th floor of the Sea Garden.]

Apparently some levels of Grand Luxxe may work due to certain units in NV only being in specific GL buildings.& floors. @Eric B is quite knowledgeable on this.
There is also some kind of Platinium GL ownership that improves perks- and may (?) help in view & floor location
As we all know ; Vidanta honours what is written in the contracts, AND will give addendums when negotiated for payment value.

Before 2010 - when Grupo Mayan was only SG, MP & GM - there was something called Profile A that was based on dollars of ownership.
It gives the owner 1 year reservation ARP and "view " consideration. I have seen GM & MP rentals that list this status.

My ownership guarantees nothing about view. I think if I offer a place I just have to be honest.

We had the Profile A when we owned Grand Mayan and when we upgraded all our units to GL, we got Gold Membership. It gave us a special reservation # and we get "first opportunity for the most desirable views available" - I'm not sure that is a guarantee that we get an ocean view. But, we are OK with the other side if we get a higher floor.

Our Profile A gave us higher floors and ocean views.

I'd love a copy of our contract. Maybe I can find it at my parents' house.

Members Services can get you a copy. It's against their policy to email them, but they should be able to print one out.

When you do get a copy. It is a good idea to scan it and save as a PDF. I have a PDF of ours and keep it on my small laptop that I take with me on vacation. That way I always have a copy with me when on vacation. Sometimes I print it out and take that with me to an "update" so that I can make sure that I keep all the things that we already have. Especially have copies of Addendums. (Those are the "extras" they promised and we made them put in writing.)

One thing to note - Just went through this in Riviera Maya in November - They require 3 days to process your request for a copy of the contract, and you must be present to sign for it per Member Services office. Something we were not advised about when talking to customer service on the phone. And yes as Eric stated - they will not email, nor mail the copy of the contract per their policy.

This must be a newer / updated VMS policy.
About 6 or 7 years ago I did receive mine by email - attached as a PDF from Member Services.

Is Grand Mayan better than Mayan Palace? Found some on MarketPlace and we would like to rent one week in one of these. Do we need to pay additional guests fees? Where should I call and ask. The owners called and they said that we don't have to pay additional, but I am reading about $900 per week resort fees. Not sure what to do. Thank you

Listen to the owners.

Grand Mayan is a slightly larger unit with a real balcony. Mayan Palace has a tiny standing balcony not large enough for a chair.

If you rent from an owner you do not pay resort fees. If you trade into Vidanta through Interval, RCI etc then you pay resort fees.

There are other benefits based upon the location. For example; at Nuevo Vallarta Mayan Palace guests can't use the lazy river but Grand Mayan can use it.

When we were staying at the Mayan Palace in Nuevo Vallarta this past January, we used the Lazy River. Nobody was checking bracelets (?).

In essence Mayan Palace occupants are supposed to have their own pool and not use the Grand Mayan pools but they have taken away the Mayan Palace pool and so they are allowing MP to use the Grand Bliss pools and other pools because of that. (not Grand Luxxe pools though)

When we checked in to MP-NV in Feb (2022) we were told our bracelet / room key would allow access to :
the Beachland Pool ( formerly the MP pool) and the Grand Bliss Pool. [These are the 2 closest pools.]

The staff sometimes check for bracelet brand at the Lazy River -which is part of the Gran Mayan Pool Complex,
but obviously not always.
