Has anyone had any success with those months? Seems like there are many nice weeks on both coasts that sell on ebay for peanut(s). I know it is prime hurricane time but
it can be great weather too.

In FL if its in Orlando you Nov. weeks should go if its around Thanksgiving, and October for Amusement Park fans who want to visit during Halloween activities.

There are literally thousand of timeshares in Florida, especially Orlando. Off-season rentals would be possible, but check on the various TS rental sites to see what the "going rate" is. You have to be sure that the rentals are greater than your annual MFs.

I normally wouldn't buy a TS for rental purposes unless it is a high demand resort/week Florida keys in the summer or during Fantasy Fest).
My guess is that most of these "deals" are from PCCs or people looking to dump their TS because they CANNOT rent or sell them, but I'm sre there are others who disagree.

Trying to find a renter at a profitable price during this low season when kids are in school is like a needle in a haystack.:hysterical:

It would be tough to make a buck with that gameplan. You would be lucky to recoup your fees.

January & September Are Slow In Orlando. October Is Semi-Slow.

In 2006 we bought an Orlando floating-week timeshare resale. That year's use was already paid for when we bought it. By arrangement with the sellers, that paid-for week transferred to us when the sale went through. By the time that happened, not many 2006 floating weeks were still available.

The best of the rest turned out to be mid-October, so we grabbed it while we could & advertised it for rent. We got no takers on Craig's List. It's a 3BR lock-off that can be divided into a 2BR condo plus an adjoining 1BR suite. We put the 1BR up for rent on eBay & got a bidder but never heard from the guy, who never responded to repeated E-Mail messages. The phone number that eBay provided via member contact information request was disconnected. We finally gave up on the guy.

We made arrangements to go there ourselves for an October "surprise" vacation with friends we have known since before any of us had kids, using the 2BR condo. (Had a nice time.) We advertised the adjoining 1BR lock-off unit for rent via Craig's List at a giveaway price & got a last-minute taker for that.

Twice (when plans changed) we rented out our Orlando 1BR lock-off after we had already made December reservations. All other times we've rented out 1- or 2- or 3BR floating-week Orlando timeshares, we've advertised them as floating -- giving an explanation of what that means -- & each time were able to reserve the particular weeks the renters wanted.

One person who responded to a Craig's List ad didn't fully get the "floating weeks" concept. She wanted to check in for 7 days Tuesday through Tuesday. Even so, our floating-weeks timeshare offers Friday & Saturday & Sunday check-ins, so that's maximum flexibility.

Thanks, that's what I figured. My wife is out of town for a few days and I was killing time on ebay. I was contemplating a clandestine purchase before she returns.
