Hi,
How can I remove my ex from the deed? I own Grand Chateau unit in Las Vegas, NV.

I called Marriott and they told me to use a title company to rewrite the deed.
They recommended First American Title Company. I looked them up and found this review:

"I used First American Title, Vacation Ownership division to conduct the transfer of a timeshare because of First American Title's reputation for residential real estate. It does not come close to the professionalism of the parent company name. The Vacation Ownership division only has one person who prepares closing documents. You are placed in queue until she (Kristie) can get to it. So far I've waited two weeks for her to prepare the documents. From what I've read on the web, multiple small organizations do a faster job at a better price."

Can you guys recommend someone else?

thanks

Lisa of legal timeshare transfers (LTT is her TUG name) can do this for around $100.
Much cheaper than first american title.

First American Title has done a good job for me. Can't speak about comparative costs since I have not used anyone else. The quote about them having only one person who prepares closing documents is simply not true. It is a large operation, based in Las Vegas.

I did it myself. While it was about 5 years ago, I think this is how I did it:

I re typed the deed (adding my name to the deed which only had my wife's name on it).

Went on line to see who to send it to (it was our Grande Vista unit in Florida), sent the deed to the person with the fee and got it registered.

Once I got it back, I forwarded something to Marriott and it was done.

I might have some things out of order and/or may be missing something, but it wasn't complicated at all.

If you have access to an attorney with reasonable costs I would consult with them. I believe they can do a quitclaim deed which is what you want.

Let us know what you do and how it turns out..
