Was contacted about the new program Redweek has started.
Not sure where inventory will come from, but this is where we educate ourselves.

Anybody using it?

What’s your thoughts on it?

I went through the whole presentation and it was pretty interesting. I actually enjoy timeshare presentations, so it was relatively fun for me. I wouldn’t recommend it if you dislike timeshare style presentations or have little interest in CC style rewards or travel hacking in general.

The carrot offered was “$500 in Travel Rewards”

  • $5,699 Rack Rate – Today price: $3,699
  • $99 /Year Renewal rate (1st two years ‘free’ with initial purchase)
  • 1 Certificate for Grand Luxxe Vidanta 1 Bed – One year to book, No blackout
    • $8,000 Rack Rate, Redtail booked listings ~$1,500
  • 7-Day Preferred Certificate – Mid-tier timeshares – One week booking studio / 1 Bd
    • Seemed similar to the Interval International Cert Inventory
  • Free Managed Listings on Redweek (10 Per Year)
    • This is actually a pretty nice perk if you have multiple redweek listings. Someone with a large rental portfolio may like this perk.
  • Rental Credit when weeks are booked
    • Amount Unknown
  • 3x a Year - $250 Redweek booking credit on a week vacation
    • Could be a nice perk if you rent from RW regularly
  • 7,400 Savings Credits
    • These offset hotel prices up to a specific threshold. They have a search engine and it provides a credit use of ~9% on Hampton inn type properties and varying on others (up to 30%). Inventory and price similar to any aggregator like Expedia etc. We are actually going to use this feature to use the “$500” that was given for the presentation.
  • 140,000 Points
    • Good for a mid-tier 7 day time-share unit
    • Disney timeshare for 7 day were about 175k points, Marriott Orlando ~175k as well
    • 5x for $1 spent points rewards system

    • Lots of other types of perks but it is a lot to go through on a 60 minute call. I think there could actually be value for certain people/types but it’s hard to cover up-front cost unless you have a specific needs for free listings, reweek credits, or book certain styles of resorts / hotels that fit in this model.

Hello, Thanks for the details. Did you signup?

I rented from RW in the past and received a call today, priced at 2699. Get double credits - 5400. Everything else is pretty much the same?

Do you see a value with this. This is not a time share correct?

I decided not to sign up- I couldn't make the deal work for our family in the short term. I like to be conservative on thing like this as the program could always change or disappear in a moment's notice. It is not really a timeshare, more like a "Discount Club" or the like. I am planning to add another 4 units units and if I keep acquiring units to rent than it gets a little closer each year.

The value prop for me:
  • 1 Certificate for Grand Luxxe Vidanta 1 Bed – One year to book, No blackout
    • My personal value on this is $0, wouldn't use it if it were free - logistic too complicated for season of life
    • $8,000 Rack Rate, Redtail booked listings ~$1,500
  • 7-Day Preferred Certificate – Mid-tier timeshares – One week booking studio / 1 Bd
    • Seemed similar to the Interval International Cert Inventory
    • Could have value but the unknown factor makes it hard to accurately evaluate, maybe $0 or up to $500 if we could snag a cheap Orlando unit (similar to II cert). We have access to getaway certs on II so not as value to us as others
  • Free Managed Listings
    • $360 I'm planning to do 6 managed listing with RW this year so solid personal value here
  • $250 booking credit on redweek
    • $250 we plan on booking one we for certain on RW this year
  • Savings Credits
    • $0 - We tried to use these but the discounts were similar to what we could get elsewhere and the website kept having issues when we were trying to book - could add value if you stay at certain units that get large discounts
  • 140,000 Points
    • This is the wild card for valuation - a week at a 1bd/studio Disney / Orlando would be worth a little bit to us but it is hard to see inventory. If we could get something in HHI or close by (we live in GA) we could get some value- however, we are mostly on-peak, kids-in-school travelers so I would expect it would hard to find any premium inventory

So known value for us would be ~$600 and +/- $1500 with unknown. If the price were closer to $500 we would likely experiment with it but too many unknowns for our family to be anywhere close to $2,500+

Redweek is owned by a different company. I remember someone took it over, The 10 managed listings would be okay, if they didn't charge the $59 or the $100. I could see a savings there.

Still hoping Koala will catch on for renters. There are a lot of listings on that site. Go-koala.com Just rented a Dolphin's Cove on Koala about a week ago. I am thrilled and was thrilled to be able to take my listing down from Redweek, but I had paid $59. No refund offered from Redweek. Not that they should do that, but if Koala was more known, it would be an awesome way to rent.

I like that Koala doesn't charge a listing fee at all, only if they get a renter. This is a huge savings. I have had verify and protect listings on Redweek expire without a renter, and my price was in line with other rentals. $59 wasted.

I personally don't like the idea of Redweek going down this road of pitching a product with a high-pressure sales' pitch.

I wish there were more alternatives to redweek as well. Go Koala has some potential if enough people use it. I keep it bookmarked for last minute deals. I do like that they don't charge a list fee as well.

It is a bit of a pivot for Redweek on the business model. I feel like it will be an uphill sale to market a ~3k discount club. The rep I had was pretty weak on the sales side (maybe I'm spoiled by the polish of the Marriott sales team). The sales 'ask' at the end was awkward (for her) and they never sent me the details in writing like they promised. Feels like two separate units but it does risk spoiling the redweek brand if they don't do a better job with the program / marketing team.

This was super helpful. thank you. They keep reaching out to me as well.
I am intrigued to as we spend about $3k a year for two weeks going to Anaheim to visit family/Disney As well as other vacations.
I am curious if I would be able to use this to book the Wyndham/Worldmark Anaheim (we never have enough points to cover the 50+ RCI points needed to book a week there) We are fine going off-season, although it’s such a popular area I’m not sure that there ever is an off-season . I’d be willing to spend the money, but only if I could be guaranteed exact resort bookings

I'd say a hard pass. It sounds WAY too familiar of one of the many "vacation membership" places (smartergetaways). IF it's like the Smarter Getaways, it's a total rip off, IMO. The discounts you get are sometimes pretty good, but generally come with zero flexibility (ie, you cannot cancel/change). Or lack details (they would list Vidanta, but not specifically state if there were resort charges). They would give themselves an out with a generic "may be extra fees" for anything booked (cruises, resorts, car rentals, hotels, etc.)

I was actually wondering about these extra fees and resort charges, they are not listed anywhere on their website when you try to book. Actually, send them an email asking about that....wondering what they will reply :)
Thanks!

Appreciate the topic / discussion.

Mutliple calls from call center and have been awarded $500 in Travel Credits, but for some reason they don't show up in my account. Rep could not give me short explanation of program. Could not find a good explanation on their website. Have NOT "upgraded".

Redweek Travel Terms and Conditions link: https://travel.redweek.com/term-pages/terms-and-conditions

Couple of items that caught my attention:

Re Hotel Fees and Taxes:
The amount paid to the supplier for taxes and fees may be less than the amount We estimate and charge to You. The balance of the charge for Taxes and Fees is a service fee We retain as part of the compensation for Our services and to cover Our costs for making reservations, including, for example, customer service costs.

Re: Travel Credits:
Member may initially be awarded Travel Credits(“Travel Credits”) upon Membership enrollment, and subsequently when making qualifying travel purchases through Us or by qualifying Membership transactions. Travel Credits will be credited to the Membership account and may be redeemed towards partial payment for subsequent purchases through Us. Travel Credits may not be used as a form of payment for the call center fee. Member must maintain the Membership account in good standing to earn or to redeem Travel Credits.

Redeeming. Travel Credits have no actual cash value, but may be redeemed towards partial payment, at time of checkout, to the net amount of a travel or other transaction completed through Us, whether purchased online or offline. Travel Credits may not be redeemed toward payment of any taxes, fees, travel insurance, shipping or handling charges. Each of Our available products will specify the maximum amount of Travel Credits, if any, that may be redeemed towards partial payment in the description of the product or service.

Expiration and Termination. Travel Credits are only valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issuance to You. Unredeemed Travel Credits expire upon the termination of the Membership or any renewal thereof. Travel Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.

Redweek is truly associated with this sleazy deal? I haven't gotten this offer from RW and have lots of listings on RW. Talk about a lack of information.

This reminds me of a deal a firefighter friend of Rick's wanted to talk to me about. He kept saying he heard a spiel about a vacation club that was going to give him unlimited timeshare vacations and just money upfront. I told him it sounds like a scam. He said a friend was using it, so it wasn't a scam. I never really did get any information from him that made any sense. Sounded like Extra Vacations to me. I don't travel last-minute and don't need to rent anything from RCI. I was not impressed with his explanation.

If RW is going to run a scam, they need to know that we are going to out it as such.

I did buy this, but then cancelled the next day. I have rented on Redweek, but I handle everything else myself. This gives me the flexibility to rent on other sites, such as VRBO and Facebook groups. They only will refund the Redweek Verfied weeks. The trial membership that they walk you through is more of a prototype, so you can't really tell what you are getting. I am better at getting car rental discounts. I have enough hotel points, so I wouldn't be earning savings credits, plus I try to stay at timeshares for a lot of locations. I've already got Interval. And I realized that I wouldn't really get value from it.

Has any Tuggers signed up yet? They have been calling me and spoke to a rep after multiple calls that I did not pick up.

They offered the same as the below except offered a one-time offer of $1,699.

Their savings credits seem like the RCI offer of using points towards a hotel booking but the amount of "credits" that can be used is only partial payment. If it's the same engine/model as RCI, then there's little or any actual savings with these "credits".

I'm not an owner but just renting using RW. Just got a phone call for Travel Rewards and it does sound interesting. Was trying to find reviews online but info is non existing, beside this page:)

We have received several emails and phone calls from several different “personal consultants.” After reviewing the information and reading this thread we are not interested.

Hi, Frips!

If you're JUST looking to book timeshare weeks so you can get the $250 Vacation cash for each rental booking up to (4) times per year, use that cash on RedWeek Travel Rewards to pay for your car rentals/air fare. (Which is what most of our members in your type of situation do) I think this package would OVER-work for you and we should have offered you a more sensible and affordable enrollment option because you don't need all those points and Savings Credits for your situation. Oh yeah, you would also earn points on those bookings, 5 points per dollar, which you can redeem for vacations OR convert to Vacation Cash. BUT if you aren't looking to redeem for vacations, (because you are just booking timeshare weeks), it would make sense to turn the points to cash and use it on car rentals/ airfare or if you wanted to add on a couple days from your rental stay and needed a hotel for those days, boom, you have some cash that you earned by the travel you're already doing.

Thank you for your time in reading this.

I’m glad this thread popped up again. Last week I received in the mail a $500 “exclusive member savings card” for RedWeek Travel Rewards that requires a phone call to activate, but no where on the flyer does it state how much the membership costs. Reviewing this thread, it seems the cost has decreased as time has gone by, so I suspect the price I’d be quoted if I called would vary from those above. I’m not going to call, though, because the benefits (very poorly) shown on the flyer wouldn’t be of value to us.

I signed up 2 weeks ago after ignoring them for several months. They have e-mailed and called several times. I paid $999 for 2 years and as someone that uses Redweek Verified & Protected to rent 10+ reservations per year the value proposition was there with 10 free listings in 2024 and 10 in 2025 so, $599.90 ($59.99 x 10) recouped already in 2024 and $599.90 early next year. The long-term benefit I see will be if we receive 10 free listings per year after the $99 annual renewal fee beginning 2026. I do not anticipate using the other benefits as we have difficulty using what we already own including Getaway opportunities is II.

How many of your listings do not rent? I have had a few that I added verify to that didn't rent, so that money was down the drain.

As someone that only uses Redweek Verified & Protected for rentals the value proposition is there even if a reservation does not rent. I'd pay for the listing fee anyway.
