Looking to book a 3br Dolphins cove from Redweek. Seller states there is an additional $280 due at check in for room size upgrade. Does this sound legit?

This is a legacy week owner . Sounds like the owner is upgrading from their 1BR ownership to a 3BR, which is a cost of $40 per night. There will be tax on top of that the resort will need to collect. I usually pay for it on my rentals if upgrading but build it into the rental amt. If they gave you a good deal, that's the offset

Yes, I am owner there and I own a 1 br, there's an upgrade fee of $35 per night paid at checkin... that is legit... I'm not clear if I pay MORE than $35 pwer night, since I went from a 1 br to a 3 br... going in April.
