Redweek-Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club

If I rent someone’s Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club week through Redweek and the listing states a Lighthouse building Oceanside view villa, am I guaranteed that building and view? Does it make a difference if it is rented with or without Redweek as the intermediary?
 
If that’s what they own that’s what you will get! If you have a Bonvoy account you can add the reservation to your account and then it will state Oceanside on your reservation. When you receive your planning email two weeks before you go, (this may go to the owner) make sure you or the owner (whoever gets the email) request POOL SIDE. Lighthouse is the most convenient building to pool and beach, but Oceanside rooms can be on the opposite side which is parking lot view! Enjoy! Wanted to add - not 100% sure you can add a rental to your bonvoy account but I think you can.

You can. In fact, when MVC changes the guest name to the renter, they will (should) also remove the owners Bonvoy number from the reservation. The renter (guest) should then be able to add it and/or look up the reservation on Marriott.com.
 
Hello @dioxide45 - If I am trying to rent at Aruba Surf club lighthouse tower through redweek for a date that is only two weeks from here, do you know how long it takes for MVC to approve? I know they have a 30 day rule now? so just wondering what to expect.

Other's can probably answer better than I can. The form indicates 30 days, but I've seen people say they usually update it within a few days. Just double check the renters name is right after they've made the change. They can be sloppy as the updates are all manual.

And just a general question about MVC guest of owner, I received a copy from bonvoy site showing the reservation with my name but when i type in the reservation to find it in Bonvoy, it gives me an error? I just want to make sure everything is set so no surprises. Is not being able to look up the reservation by guest a known thing, or i think i read somewhere in which the owner adds your bonvoy? not sure its necessary to do but just am curious as first time renting. Can you bring the confirmation up on Marriott.com using the owner's name? Perhaps you would then see your name there as an additional guest?

@dioxide45 ..i think you brought me good luck :)

I tried with owner name and nothing, which I thought was strange then i tried my name again and it worked! Perhaps it took a few extra hours to fully register
 
if I am not too annoying to ask more questions, the owner's email is still on reservation and it does let me change to mine and also add my bonvoy #(optional), i'm just wondering if i should switch to my email in case they send any notifications, but at same time since the first and last names fields are open to editing(not that i need to change anything there its all set), I don't want to risk causing issues with saving anything.

if anyone has any experience with changing emails, adding bonvoy # (is there even any benefit other than to tag under trip?), would be great to hear if that caused any issues?
I guess i'm too excited to take my parents on a trip. I am probably overthinking this too much and should just chill out lol
