I hadn’t looked at www.redweek.com for a long time, until today. I was shocked to see that www.redweek.com is now charging a $99.00 fee, when a unit is rented, in addition to their $49.99 Self Service Listing fee (valid, for 6 months), and $18.99 annual membership fee.

I’ve searched TUG for postings about this latest cash-grab by www.redweek.com, and, to my surprise, there is not a lot of dialogue on this subject/fee.

Does anyone know when this fee was added to www.redweek.com’s rental fees, and how it was marketed/justified? I’ve searched www.redweek.com, and don’t see a lot of history/information.

Thank you.

On a DIY rental, you only pay the listing fee. Make sure you are logged into “Classic” mode.

It just happened to me. I list with DIY method for $49.99. This year it was getting close to checkin on two rentals so I lowered the price. Redweek made an offer on one for the new price but up front they said they would charge the $100 fee. I agreed. I wouldn't rent with them other than the DIY method but if it gets close again next year I'd accept.

To get to "Classic Mode," on the landing page, click on "Post Your Timeshare" and select "Rent My Timeshare." Beneath the menu where you originally clicked "Post Your Timeshare," you'll see in VERY small print the following:

You're using our new posting wizard. Click here to switch back to our classic pricing table.

Click where it says "Click here" and you'll see the "classic" pricing model.
