I was trying to use the verify at Redweek.com for my weeks I booked directly through RCI before the 10-month window that opens inventory to everyone else. I send the verification #'s to Redweek, the ones that came directly from RCI, and they rejected the RCI confirmations as non-owner reservations. So I called the resort directly and received the reservation #'s on their end. We own RCI Points at Presidential Villas at Plantation Resort, and I was able to get the resort's reservation #'s, which are different numbers and can be verified. They won't do it now because I originally sent the RCI confirmations.

I am partly impressed that Redweek is not accepting exchanges for rentals through the verify option, but I am dismayed that they do not understand ARP through RCI. It's the only way I can book my Presidential Villas. I cannot call the resort and book them, unless I take them out of RCI Points. I paid $3,500 to put all five into RCI Points. It was many years ago and a good deal at the time, and my cost is still a little more than 1 cent per point, and it's something I can rent, when I need to rent.

For RCI points it isn't pre 10 months, its generally pre 13 month (home week). It has to be before it goes into points at all. It should have a $0 rci reservation fee and a $0 guest cert fee. 10-12 it is still an rci points reservation that is just open for home resort (12 months- $50 reservation fee) and home resort group (11 months).

Right. I booked way in advance. I am going to rent it myself without verify. It's 4th of July week, and I have two of them. I can only book 10 months, 1 day to 12 months in advance. I booked at 12 months. 13 months doesn't work for Presidential Villas, at least I don't think so. I have in my paperwork, which I kept from the resort, 12 months in advance is the soonest I can book. Maybe I should check that. The resort told me I couldn't book my home week through them at all anymore. Do you know if this works for every resort, or is it your resort vs. mine?

I actually thought about taking the weeks out of RCI Points, seriously thought about it. That would leave me only Australia and Fox Hills. I don't think it would be worth my platinum membership to only have 146,000 points in RCI.

I was in a pickle last year. I realized that Mansfield in Australia hadn't been giving me my points. I emailed the RCI rep for that resort and she agreed they hadn't deposited the points for about 5 years. So she deposited them this past June, all at once. I didn't need so many points at once. But lo and behold, I used a lot of points to get Kahana Beach and Sands of Kahana for our upcoming Maui trip, and Kahana Beach is oceanfront (1 bedrooms only, because studios have uncomfortable murphy beds). If I don't get these two Presidential Villas units rented, I am going to get a lot of points back that I do not want.

I know that at Beachwoods which is managed by DRI they don't honor the home week reservation and consider it an exchange regardless. SummerBay and Massanutten also let RCI manage points reservations 100% but they do honor the home week reservation and let you rent those out.
When you booked the RCI for presidential Villas did it charge you an exchange fee?

No exchange fee, and I am trying to decide whether to add points protection, which is not free. People just aren't traveling as much as usual. I am traveling, but I cannot use these weeks. Points protection is probably a wise move.

Hi @rickandcindy23 and @tschwa2, I never have any trouble booking by home weeks with Divi resorts in RCI Points. But when posting rentals on redweek I’ve never used the Verified option. I‘ve never run into any trouble renting them, at least with Divi.

I always purchase the Points Protection for my Caribbean timeshares - since Covid and the chance of hurricanes I’ve had a couple of trips canceled to St Maarten and Aruba.

Since you didn't pay an exchange fee, you might want to look at the schedule as to when you loose points to see if the fee is worth it.

I see you also have Mansfield point in Australia, any idea on how to get rid of this timeshare. I wrote them and was told they will not take them back, even for free.
