Recommendations for Outer Banks

I am looking to go down to the Outer Banks in off season - can you give me your thoughts on best resort with thoughts of indoor pool - unit quality and
places to walk and places to eat.

Thanks in advance. I have been looking at reviews but many of the resorts seem very old and want to make sure the one I pick is clean and has a nice clean indoor pool.
 
This is a suggestion only. Maybe Hilton Beechwood Resort on OBX.
Please read the current reviews.
 
I would suggest that you look into renting a house/condo vs. staying in a timeshare. There are thousands available and off season rates are pretty low.

I. Agree with Big Matt rent a nice house/condo with full amenities.
