Just returned from my week at WKORV...thanks everyone for all the posts! Here's some random thoughts:

* Lots and lots of whales
* Grounds were in great shape
* Definitely prefer the pool areas and entry area/lounge at WKORV over WKORV-N
* The "express service" was anything but express
* False emergency evacuation around 3am one night
* Resort must at full capacity or near full capacity
* Loved the hot dog stand!
* Onsite sales persons were not very helpful
* Do bring 2 doorstops if occuying both 2 bdrm units (thanks for the tip!)
* Loved the rooms

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the highlights!

How was the weather? Did you see whales from your balcony all day long? Did you survey guests to see who was an owner and who was not :D ? Just kidding...

Did you have any room requests on file, or did you just get lucky and get a great villa? Did you call at 12 months out?

Weather was wonderful and comfortable... highs in the low 80s with a nice breeze. The wife needed a light top in the evenings.

Whales were everywhere! We could see whales from the balcony (south side of bldg 3 allows for a very wide panaromic view). Here's a pic from the balcony (sorry, couldn't react fast enough to focus)

.

I was very fortunate. The reservation was made about 3 months out.

No. I used a 18 by 200 zoom Nikkor lens. The whale was probably only 3 hundred yards away. It was the closest whale to shore the entire week.

Here's a focused picture of the big splash.
