Recent 2 star review of TUG on Google

As we approach nearly 200 5 star reviews, I noticed one came in today from a member regarding a rental that did not get rented.

I am curious as to the thoughts from the community on this one as I truly want EVERYONEs timeshare to get resold or rented via TUG, but in some situations the chances of that are reduced significantly.

I responded to the review as such, but am curious to get other owners takes on it as there is no way to grow or improve if you ignore feedback and simply rely on your own thoughts and feelings!

TUG primarily purpose is NOT to be a rental site. So if hey joined to rent out their TS they have come to the wrong place. Having ads on TUG is ancilliary to its primary purpose.

I have no problem with someone being disappointed when they fail to sell or rent as the marketplace is a huge draw for TUG and plenty of people join to post resales and rentals, but this particular situation had an extremely low chance of success from the start regardless of where the rental was posted. (again, my opinion).

Regardless of the timing, Jeff says nothing about what TUG did (or failed to) leading to his unit not being rented. Lame.

I need more information ?
Was the resort week a high demand week at an Elite Resort or a Five Star Resort.
Was it a two bedroom unit , with a full kitchen or just a studio unit?
How were the resort ratings on TUG and Tripadvisor ?
Did the resort charged resort fees and how much was price of the rental week?

These are some of the reasons, why a timeshare week was not rental. IMHO
Also, on REDWEEK.COM website all weeks are not rented . IMHO

TUG, IMHO, is not a rental company. This IMO only.

I can't find the review - Google doesn't appear to let me click on the ratings like Amazon does to see only 1 star or 2 star or whatever. So basically all I've seen is 5 star reviews lol.

it is the most recent one, assuming you can sort by date?

that said, all but 2 or 3 are 5 star reviews, which im quite proud of!

Not any different than placing an ad in the newspaper and then giving the newspaper a bad review because your item didn’t sell. Apparently, it is everybody’s fault but Jeff.

As @pedro47 alluded to, we don’t know the specifics. Was it a high demand place? Was it priced right? Even if this was a great deal, there just aren’t many people looking for a vacation with a week or less to go before checkin. But again, it isn’t Jeff’s fault for waiting until the last minute.

Nobody's fault. People want what they want and react how they want. When a site offers a service that cannot give a 100% guarantee, the ones who don't get fulfillment feel like they got the short end. IIWII. And when (if?) the service is (was?) labelled "Last Minute", well, some may take that literally. YCPE

It was a 1br unit in wisconsin during memorial day week. it was priced aggressively, just a very short time before check in.

I'm also logged in to google, using a chromium based browser. IDK, at least for me, the google reviews are a bad UI. No reason to beat the dead horse though - thanks for the screenshot.

It's the same sort of people who leave reviews for items on amazon with "1 star, took too long for delivery" as if that's at all relevant to the item. I think some people just have no understanding what's going on most of the time - as if a classified ad guarantees a sale in less than a week!

I haven't seen the review. My experience with reviews are they need to be disputed as soon as they come up bad. Maybe email the reviewer if it's on tug.

They joined TUG last month and posted that listing. They have sent a similar email expressing dissatisfaction in not getting their unit rented. I provided a similar response with suggestions on how to improve the chances of finding a renter but have not heard back.
