Heard about HBO freebie from prime for 30 days. Very excited until I tried to get on. Have had many problems with streaming Amazon but lately it has been terrible. I have enough speed and turn off all tablets and phones and still have trouble. Think I will stick with Netflex. Many talk about the great movies on Amazon but most are old or uninteresting. Are others having connection problems?:wall:

Not here...I use Netflix and Amazon often and it's been great. HBO, Showtime, STARZ, and others also stream without issue (i use their individual apps, not via Amazon).

No issues with Amazon Prime video. Been watching season 2 of The Man in the High Castle with no issues- several episodes in a row. Watched American Beauty movie last week and no issues. My husband has been watching some old tv shows like MacGiver trouble free as well. We use the Roku stick over a wireless DSL connection (modem upstairs and TV downstairs).

No problem with our Amazon Prime video, and they're carrying the best show on - The Grand Tour!

No problems here either. i trued the NetFlix free trail and i cancelled that because i didn't see any value while i had Amazon Prime. Between Prime, PlayStation Vue and Kodi, i have everything i need and at a fraction of the price i paid with Dish.

Per my note in another Prime thread, we're coasting on a 30-day free Prime trial. Besides the Christmas music feed while I'm working in the office, we've seen three Amazon movies and no issues at all.

I had the 30 day free prime trial and went to cancel it before the 30 days was up. An offer appeared to extend it another 30 days!!

Guess the problems are mine alone. Will have to investigate more. Thanks for all your comments.:)

Amazon has great customer service. Call them and have them help you troubleshoot your system. Maybe yours is defective or the problem lies in a setting on your router or inter net service. In the black stripe at the top of every Amazon page is a 'Help' link follow the tree and have them call you. it's very fast, no time spent on hold, and they're pretty good.
Good Luck, I hope it works for you. We have a Fire 'stick' at home and Fire TV (box) at the second home and they work as advertised without turning anything else off or special settings. Perhaps they'll just find that your unit is defective and replace it.

I have a low "5mbps" speed connection, and my Amazon video seems to work just fine. Though sometimes it freezes, it also unfreezes on its own after a few seconds. I must say I am satisfied with it.

also watching Man in the High Castle with no issues. We had 46 free deliveries with prime last year! For those with kids in college/school, it's great. "Mom, I need XYZ book for class by friday." Order on prime and get it in 2 days. No getting in the car, going to the bookstore! Plus, all those weird adpators, etc that we can get generics for $5-10, and shipping holiday gifts straight to the recipients!

Also, sometimes uninstalling it and then reinstalling it helps.

Hmmm, may have to try this. ;)
I am certain the free shipping encourages members to order more frequently than they normally would have. I found myself telling my sis today there's a cookbook I'm interested in and I may as well just order it since shipping is quick & free. I fear I may have been sucked in...

Far from it. You'll come back here and thank everyone, then ask yourself "what took me so long?" There's a great deal of value in not being required to free up time, get in your car, make trips to various stores, and repeat if you need to make a return. Your time is worth something. To some, it is invaluable. They're not making more of it! ;)

We loved season one of Man in the High Castle and are looking forward to streaming season 2. Love Amazon Prime Video, which is included in our Prime membership. Looking forward to an additional season of Bosch as well. Need to watch The Grand Tour. Haven't seen it. I wasn't that impressed with Mozart in the Jungle. Maybe I am too old. Anyway, a lot of great Christian movies are on Prime Video, which I get to see without charge. I love that, and I know my granddaughter can watch with me.

You are probably right. In fact, it's likely DH will be the one who benefits more as he watches more movies (and he's the one who really didn't think it was worth it). We're enjoying the free 30 days so far, so I'm sure we'll join you all.

We're not movie watchers at all, and the only video portion of Prime that we view is The Grand Tour. We have Amazon Prime for purchases. ;)

The second season of High Castle is excellent also. I watched it over 3 nights. The last few episodes of season 2 especially are some pretty complex, multilayered stories that really drew me in. This is a great example of what television should be, and luckily has become. Now, have to wait another whole year for season 3, argh.

Sounds like you need better / better located WiFi.

WiFi analyser on a smart phone may help diagnose. As would speed test. Net

Amazon also serves Netflix and others content so not likely to be amazon.

Season 2 of Man in the High Castle was definitely worth watching, but I am going to go back and watch the first season because I kind of forgot how Juliana's sister died. I remembered Frank's sister's and her family's death without re-watching that one. I couldn't believe the brutality, so it stuck with me. They were Jewish.

OTOH, getting out to "civilization" from in front of a tv or other screen and outside on my bike or in my new car to get something keeps life more interesting for me:). I've got plenty of time for that being retired and single.

Cheers
