RCI vs Intervals International or is it Intervalworld.com?

Which exchange company would have the best chance of getting a 2012 summer week at the Lawrence Welk Resorts or Villas on the Greens?
And, is intervalworld.com the same as Intervals International?
When I called intervalworld.com they wanted to know my purchase date, occupancy date, and unit number of the exchanging week. Is that necessary, or is it a scam?

intervalworld.com is the website for Interval International.

Asking for your information is standard operating procedure.

I have no idea about the availability of the resorts.

Welcome to TUG.

Interval International (II) currently shows some weeks available in June and August 2012.

You must join II in order to make an exchange. II will need to confirm with your resort that you own a week at that resort, and what size unit you own.

Where do you own?

I know the Welk resorts are affiliated with I.I. I'm not certain they have ever been affiliated with RCI or if there would be availability with RCI. Either one will require a membership before allowing you to exchange or see what's available.

I'm not certain one exchange company is better than the other. Each has it's own nuances and/or advantages. It comes down to personal preference.

I'd guess that only about 1/10 of all TS companies are affiliated with both RCI & II and most TS companies really push their members to use one exchange company.

I think for Welk, II gets significantly more inventory than does RCI.
