Hi everyone,
I am trying to decide whether to deposit next year points as pool points or deposit into RCI. I want to look at the resorts in RCI and see how many points the resorts require. But I'm having trouble on the RCI page. I can't seem to figure out how to search the resorts. Can anyone explain to me step by step how to go into the RCI site and search the resorts? Thanks, Sue

There are two ways into RCI - you can go in through the Whyndam site and under "my membership" go to "RCI Exchange" This is where you can do exchanges or deposit weeks. You can also go to the RCI site directly and log on with your weeks membership number - this is necessary if you want to look for last min vacations (if you go through wyndham it is only about exchanges). Also looking at the resorts is best going in through weeks.

You talked about credit pool vs. depositing. Remember that points pool is done at the beginning of the year - there is NO need to deposit into RCI until you are ready to make an exchange or at the end of the year.

You should Pool first, they are then good for 3 yrs.

You can always manipulate the points later so as to be able to make RCI deposits.

RCI deposits are now not the best use of Wyndham points, using within Wyndham is. Personally I've gone from about 4 RCI exchanges using Wyndham points to zero, and I don't see that changing.

There is a fixed grid of points required, you can find that on the Wyndhanvacationresorts.com site.

for SOME places Wyndham points are a great deal on RCI...but they are few and far between, i'd guess that the Manhattan club would be an Amazing deal and the Disney resorts....Those places that have REALLY HIGH TPU's for 1 & 2br places because of the fixed grid system

For Example:
Right now i see a 1br at the manhattan club on 11-23-12 for 60TPU, cost me about $1000 in MF's and more then one week...BUT with the Wyndham fixed grid system it would be closer to 143,000 points, at $5 per 1,000(low average) that would cost around $615 in MF's

But in general, its true, Wyndham points are better used in the Wyndham system

Pool!

I used to always exchange, but I'm down to my last week in RCI and once it's gone, no more RCI for me. The exchanges have been pitiful this last year - and I'm going for easy places like Branson, Orlando, etc.
