Has anyone successfully deposited their KBV week with RCI Points since the issues started in the last year or so (2022+). I am an every other year owner and wondering whether or not I will be able to deposit and if so, will the points value be maintained.

Yes and yes

So far so good but the question is about the future and the what ifs involved. For example, what if the owner pays main fees and the resort owners decide bankruptcy is the proper move. If you deposit points in January and the resort closes its' doors in March will your deposited points still be good. I don't know the answer to that question.

While I know that this has happened, it's rarely enough that I wouldn't lose sleep over it. If you reserve into a 'known' resort, the odds of it closing are very slim. If it's a 'one-off' independent resort with shaky finances and shoddy maintenance, that should be apparent in reviews.

Perhaps you are unaware of the KBV situation as I don't see that you own there. If so and you want to respond, please check the KBV Public Square more closely which will disclose that your answer is not really addressing the many problems that KBV is having which makes it more vulnerable than the average resort. I own there, I am losing sleep over it as are many other owners and saying finances are shaky is the understatement of the decade when banks will not loan the resort the money necessary for it to operate in a safe and secure manner; thus, the future of the resort is unknown so I stand fully behind my statement.

In case anyone is interested, I successfully deposited my every other year 2 bed week for 100,300 points in RCI points.

As an exercise, I did the calculations from the last time I banked points. I was able to get 28 nights at other resorts in total...after totalling up the maintenance fees, transaction fees and RCI membership and dividing by 28, I got an average cost per night of $114.49. We stayed in Phoenix (2), Scottsdale (3), Austin (7), Park City (7), San Antonio (7) and will be going to Avon, CO (2) next month for skiing.

I concluded this is working for me once I did the analysis. Hopefully, KBV will continue to stay afloat somehow.

I have 1,726 points left over, but probably won't be able to use them.

Hopefully this is what you were looking for.
