My use year is 12/1 to 11/30. Earlier tonight (on 11/30 before midnight RCI time) I had 67k points in my points acct. They were all my 2010 points, none saved from 2009 in danger of expiring 11/30/2011. Tonight after midnight, they are all gone, and all that is in there is the new 24,500 I should get 12/1. What should I do? Is this a common thing, a computer glitch when the new year switches? Or should I set my alarm and call them first thing in the morning and demand an audit?

I called this morning and was told I had "used" all those points. Nope. I confirmed with the rep that none had expired in my account that she could see, for any use year prior (I knew that, just wanted to see what she could see or not). I told her I kept independent records of all my reservations and my points in and what I showed in my records and online last night was 67,000 RCI points left, and after 12 midnight eastern, *poof* --- now just shows the brand-new points that showed up Dec 1. :wall:

She had a "tone" and was trying to tell me that they were all used and started telling me, "you used 71,000 points for this one, and X for this one," and I stopped her and told her that wouldn't fly and I wanted an official accounting done. I told her the programming that just disappears your points and also disappears your vacation history willy-nilly is poor accounting/programming. In the past, I have taken screen shots of my account page, and wish I had last night. I might have another earlier one that showed the 67,000 on my other computer. I also in the past have taken screen shots of my reservation history. I have all my confirmation emails as well. Now on my reservation history it's only showing 3 reservations that I can see on my side, so it's a good thing I have taken screen shots and kept all my confirmation emails as I've seen this before, the history showing then not showing....:crash:

She said it would be 10 - 14 days by mail and I should get my accounting. Has anyone done this and actually gotten it back in that length of time? Has anyone else had non-expiring points just disappear when a new use year comes up?

I questioned RCI's accounting of my RCI Points a couple of years ago. They did send me a copy of their records that was not easy to follow and didn't resolve anything. I think it took closer to a month to receive the copy of their records. I still questioned it, talked with a Supervisor who just restored the account to what my records documented. But, it was only around 7,000 points and in the words of the RCI Sup not worth the time to look into any further. BTW, we are no longer members. We did use the Points effectively and originally got some good exchanges, but somewhere it seemed to change and I just got tired of the constant aggravation.

Just checked my Points account and I have the same issue. My use year also begins on 12/1 and all my points from 09 use year are gone. I will have to give them a call this evening after work.

Points from the 09 use year would be expired. (the screen says 09 use year points expire 11/30/2011 on my screen, but no points were in there for a long time now) Points from my use year 09 were all used, it was points from the 10 use year that have disappeared. I hope that is the case with yours, as well. Let us know what you find out.

I just decided tonight to call the web technical support guys and find out if they'd had any other calls regarding this issue. He was able to find the problem and fix it! I had some points for deposit in there and they were not expired but they were "hiding" as he put it. He said it happens sometimes with the turnover of the year and usually it resolves itself in a couple days. He compared with what he could see on the screen and it matched with my 67,000. He put the points back and I could see them on my screen after logging out and logging back in.

*whew*

I am going to be ever more diligent in keeping my own records still, however I am glad this tech was nice enough to actually listen to me and do the math himself and find the problem.

Sorry, I meant 2010 use year. I called this morning and received a response similar to what you received about it taking a few days after the use year change. I've never had this issue with saved points so I'm sure I will have to call back in a few days.
