RCI points - better than having points with a specific TS company?

Hello everyone,
I am fairly new to timesharing and have noticed resales for RCI points and for specific TS's such as Marriott, HGVC or DRI, etc. If many people trade into RCI, would it be better to just buy RCI points instead?

You can't just buy RCI Points. They come attached to a resort ownership, so the owner has the option to either use their deeded week, OR a certain number of points is deposited into their account on a certain date every year as long as annual fees are paid and the RCI membership is paid up.

RCI points have a lot of fees that come along with transactions in RCI. You need to pay for an aprox $110 RCI membership per year, plus each exchange is in the $209-$249 per week range. There are fees for protecting points, fees for saving and extending points etc. All in addition to the annual MF's. Plus a lot of prime stuff from other systems never get deposited into rci.

You have more availability buy buying into the resort system that has the most resorts where you want to go - and you can still exchange with exchange companies.
