I have not heard much at all about this lately on the wyndham side of things but discussions have been cranking up on the HGVC side regarding the online accessiblity for HGVC customers to RCI.

See this thread for more info http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97602

Now HGVC is a points interface to RCI, however in HGVC you pay for what you book, so basically you search the properties and you pay for what you find. That is basically a different model than Wyndham. In Wynd you deposit a point value and you search for availability, you could get a red 2 BR in FL for your Studio Blue deposit and that is allowed.

So the HGVC model is different from the Wyndham model, but it is encouraging to hear that there is some online access improvements coming. Perhaps with will apply to Wynd as well.

I'm pretty disappointed at the lack of progress on this. First we were told online searchability would be available in March. Then, when I called RCI I was told by several different VGs that it was slightly delayed but would be happening in 30 days...by the end of April...now, no info at all. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering at how disappointed I've been with Wyndham overall.

I was talking to a Wyndham/RCI rep last night trying to confirm a unit I had on hold with a visible with one of my generics (didn't work). I told her I just didn't want to give up my visible because I liked being able to search first. She offered up "Oh, You will be able to search with your generics very soon!"

We'll see.

I stated on the Wyndham Owners forum previously - my money is on this being available at the end of May. The Wyndham owners meeting is next week (May 27th or 28th). If I was them, I would announce this at that meeting......another week and we will see !

Aaah, maybe they are working on it... the downside may just be that those 28k generics won't even pull what those weak 70k visibles pull any longer.
I've never seen a generic that wouldnt secure a visible on hold.

Wouldn't that be something... you can now search with them but they're even weaker.

I had a Wyndham Resort on hold with a 70K visible that my 42 or 28 generic wouldn't pull. I was disappointed, but it WAS a Christmas week I was trying to get. I had to try!
