Received an offer in my mailbox today for $49 RCI membership.

I assume it's also good for renewals although it does not say in the terms. RCI is down through this weekend so I can't check.

Funny, the email I received is just $29. Try code Starwood29.

I don't know why I would even want to join RCI.

Thanks for the note, Ken. I'll try it when RCI is back up -- I wonder if they gave me a higher offer rate because I am already a member? That seems weird.

I use it for my fixed week Vistana. I get far better value for it in RCI then I do with II, and I want to trade into DVC.

I got that offer too, the $49 offer, and I didn't hesitate--I put the email into my delete folder. I cannot imagine depositing SBP into RCI and getting assigned a week 43. Not going to happen. I am happy with my II exchanges, however.

For $29 I would consider it for extra vacations. We would not have to deposit would we?

RCI deal

Has the $29 deal worked for anyone who got the $49 deal?.

RCI Deal??

So would anyone join just to get the Extra vacations Deals??

...

Won't the Orlando regional block keep you from trading Vistana (Resort or Villages) for a DVC? (Unless you are trying for one of the non-Orlando DVC's, or own at the non-Orlando Vistana, Jensen Beach.)

I also use RCI to trade into DVC, but not with a Starwood unit. I like the way RCI allows me to combine my TPUs so I have more flexibility with what I can trade into.

Where do I put a promo code?

I own SDO. I tried to join RCI with the discount code and I did not see a place to put the code. Do I need to call? I have never been an RCI member. I was thinking of joining for extra vacations and last call. We are very flexible travelers.

I don't know why I would even want to join RCI.
you'd want to join RCI if you wanted to trade into DVC, Hilton properties, Pueblo Bonito Resorts, Grand Mayans, The Crane Resort in Barbados, some nice Aruba properties other then the 2 Marriotts, Grand Lodge at at Peak 7, Manhattan Club in NYC, Wyndham or Worldmark properties, New Orleans, San Fran, etc., also RCI has more european properties.

II mainly just has Starwood and Marriott, which the locations are few and far between.

I'm a member of both.

I did not see this question answered........would we have to deposit our week or could we just renew our membership for the $29 or $49??

Thanks for the info.

I don't want to trade into DVC, but I understand the demand for it. Hilton would be nice. I don't know anything about the Pueblo Bonito Resorts, and will look into them (ah...I don't have much interest in traveling to Mexico for several reasons so wouldn't be looking to trade into these). Grand Mayans can easily be rented on the open market for less than MF, from what I've seen. Manhattan Club would be nice, but I've heard it's hard to get, and I'm not sure I'd consider a week in New York to be a vacation. Wyndham and Worldmark can go to other people...I want Westin quality or better when I travel. And GP7 (and GTL, which I've exchanged into 2 and 3-bed units) is in II. The European properties would be nice, but from what I've heard the quality of them is suspect - are there any great locations in RCI? I'd like to combine a timeshare stay while in Europe but usually just seem to use my StarPoints for hotel stays instead.

I still do not know how to make this code work and if we have to deposit. I would use it to buy extra vacations, not exchange. My Sheraton Desert Oasis qualifies me to join. So, does the deal really exist?

Call RCI and ask them how you can get an account with this special code as a Starwood owner.
