We're looking for a 2 bedroom in west maui with air conditioning. I can get a 2 bed at Kahana Falls for the dates I need but hesitate because of the location and reviews. But a bird in the hand is worth...

Am I missing any 2 bedrooms in RCI I have a decent chance of getting with an OGS far out?
I can't tell if Kahana Beach Resort offers 2 bedroom units or has A/C.
Kahana Villa seems to have few trades.

Anyone know of chances for an ocean view unit at Kahana Falls? I'd be trading through trading places and I'm not sure if their units are pre-assigned or what.

We are trading in to a 2 bedroom at Kahana Falls through TPI on Jan 6th, I can let you know our experience then.

We have stayed at Kahana Falls in a 2 BR. We would definitely accept an exchange to this resort again. If you are looking for clean, air conditioned, well stocked kitchen, and not the Four Seasons, you will be happy with the accommodations here. Although not on the beach, it is within driving distance of several beaches. I read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor and noticed that most of the people who were critical stayed in the smaller units, especially the studio units.

Is the living room air conditioned too? Or just the bedrooms?

Please post your thoughts on this resort after your stay and maybe some photos of your unit. I too am looking at a week in a 2 bedroom unit at this resort. But hesitate based on reviews.

My first TS was the Grandview in LV, which I purchased for RCI points exchanges. There wasn't much available in Maui, so reluctantly I accepted a 2-Bdrm RCI exchange into Kahana Falls: Yuck. That exchange drove me to purchase my Marriott and HGVC TS's, which we luv to use.

Kahana Falls (KF) is in a wetter, cooler, and older section of Maui, North of Ka'Anapali. KF is across the street from other TS's and hotels that have a beach, which is not easily accessible from KF. You will have to drive to a beach, restaurants, and bars. The swimming pool is an ice-cube. The spa was a weird sand-spa. Be very careful which building they place you in. The old low-rise building in the front, closest to the street is the worst and has a reputation that proceeds it (Motel-6 at best). The room itself was OK, older, but no-ware on-pare, or close-to, a Marriott, Westin, or HGVC. I'd give the room a C at best, but everything else an F. The rooms in the other building are an F.

BTW, we stayed in a 2-Bdrm, 2-bath, non-lock-off. You entered from the parking lot, which was between our building and the highway. The guest Bdrm was tiny and was next to the door, outside walkway, and the parking lot, which was noisy and small for my wife's adult son. We had a W/D. Our Bedrm, faced the ocean, had a door that connected to the Lanai off the dining/living room, and had a partial ocean view. My wife isn't/wasn't as critical of TS as I am.

Maui Brewing Company is right around the corner by the MacDonald's. There is a place to get fresh fish near-by.

Check-out the Tripadvisor reviews, not good:

Hope this information helps.

Ron, do you know which building you were in? Here's a resort map. https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7070/6965053129_81a2fea6f9_b.jpg

We definitely prefer the wetter, cooler parts of hawaii, especially during the summer, so that isn't an issue. And while fancy westin and hgvc are great, location, price, and space trumps fancy. I'm not sure I have any other options for 2 bedrooms with a/c in Maui with RCI? We're there 2 weeks, so I really need a kitchen and w/d.

I"ll look tonight to see if I have any documents that have the room number. But, it was either 307, 407, 507, or 607, in the Falls Tower. You need to be high enough to see over the club house and the palm trees. The Aloha Tower gives you pool views, where-as the Falls Tower gives you limited ocean views.

happymum, how's your unit? Any photos of the room or view?

Embarassed to admit that our stay there was extremely brief. Thanks to a sighting from a wonderful Tugger, we ended up moving to a 2 bedroom at MMO instead. I am sure we would have been fine at the Falls, but it is definitely modest, the lockoff in paticular is quite tiny. Our room was 3rd floor, rear building and we did have a glimpse of ocean from the bedroom window.
