RCI has lowered TPU's for certain resorts to "5"

While scanning various locations today on RCI, I noticed that RCI has lowered the TPU's required for exchanging into some resorts down to "5". Seems to affect the months of April, May & first part of June 2012. No notice on RCI has been posted about this decrease as of yet.

When searching for an exchange, you'll see a red tag listed to the right of the resort name that indicates that TPU's have been lowered for certain weeks for that resort.

This is on the "weeks side" of RCI; I'm not a points member, so have no idea if lowered points are being offered also for this time frame.
 
Sometimes RCI will have "sales" on locations.. that might explain the low TPU and the red thing you mentioned.

this is just my version of an educated guess.. :confused:

I did notice this when looking for SXM exchgs. The part that "ticked" me off is I had just exchged for a SXM unit two weeks ago (11 TPU), and thought I got a great deal then. Now, I see 5 and 6 TPU for the same resort. (All units are for May/1st wk in June) I only reserved the one week (altho' I wanted 3) because I wanted to see if "last call" prices (vs exchg) would make more sense if I waited.

Oh well!!
 
Thanks for the heads up! I put a presidential unit at Silverleaf Villages on hold. I think the kids would love the waterpark, and I'll find a presidential unit bearable. (I hate the smaller Silverleaf "cottage" units.) For 5 TPU, it's a steal.
 
I received an email from RCI today about this sale.
