So I am renting our RCI last calls and have rented 2 out so far this year. Does anyone know if RCI limits the number of guest certificates you can have per year or anything like that? I've got about 6 more people that want to rent from me...

RCI doesn't limit guest certs but they do not allow renting of exchanges or extra vacations or last calls. They can cancel your membership without refunds and cancel your exchanges and all of your extra vacations and last calls for renting.

This is the wording from the terms and conditions. It doesn't mention last calls or extra vacations specifically but it does mention inventory and "other benefits of the program" It also says it can limit the number of guest certs at any time.

C. The Program is for the personal use of
Members and, if permitted, their guests, and neither
Members nor guest may use the Program for
commercial purposes, or monetary or other
consideration, including without limitation, auction,
barter, rental, raffle or sale of a Confirmed Exchange,
Deposited Vacation Time, Inventory or Guest
Certificate, for example, and RCI reserves the right
to limit the number of Transactions by a Member.
Any commercial use shall be grounds for immediate
termination of Member’s membership and cancellation of
any Exchange Request, Confirmed Exchange or other
benefits of the Program without prior suspension of or
notice to the Member and any other rights or remedies
RCI may have at law.

That's a little scary. It seems like they would want to move the last calls anyway possible, plus it gives the resort fresh meat to try to sell to... Has anyone heard of someone being reprimanded for this?

If you undertake a search of TUG threads (I'm not sure which key word(s) to use to do so, however), you will find some first hand reports of indignant TUG posters who were indeed caught renting out RCI exchanges or Last Calls, in violation of their membership terms and conditions, seeking (but generally not receiving much) support.

I do not recall RCI's punitive action(s), but cancellation of the underlying reservation was almost certainly a minimum. In theory, the offender's membership could also be suspended or terminated, but I frankly have no idea how frequently that actually happens, not being at all involved with RCI or any exchanging or Last Calls ourselves.

I'm sure that people quietly and successfully rent out exchanges and Last Calls on a routine basis (in clear violation of RCI and II terms and conditions of membership), but there is risk involved on both sides --- perhaps more so for the traveler(s) potentially being denied occupancy after already incurring the costs of their travel.

P.S. Your "fresh meat" reference is not applicable at independent resorts no longer in developer sales; there are no longer hungry sales weasels lurking on site anyhow.
On the other hand, potential exposure to such weasels is always a possibility at virtually any Wyndham or Westgate property --- for owners, renters or exchangers.

I had my II membership suspended on the suspicion of renting an exchange. I wasnt but I got flagged because it was the same week/resort as one on Ebay. Of course this wasnt with RCI but I do know RCI can and will do the same thing. It has been reported on TUG a bunch of times over the years.

If a unit is rented and then canceled by RCI, keep in mind that you could be liable for travel expenses of the renter. If youre renting in a public forum you can almost guarantee that you will run into a problem eventually.

RCI has about a dozen outlets for last calls and extra vacations. These include resort certs, skyauction, authorized resellers, afv club (military), wyndham vacations and many others. Sometimes they are the same price as rci, sometimes a little lower or higher. Sometimes they have much more flexible cancellation policies. I even have one resort that is affiliated with II but has a portal into rci extra vacations (although the prices are typically $50 or so higher). They sell this type of access to vacation clubs, the ones that claim you will never pay MF again but have great access to 7 day stays for $199-$999 and pay only when you book.

Thanks for the info everyone. Sounds like I should hold off on any more rentals...
