RCI [Guest] Certificate

Hi, I'm new here.
I am a joint tenant with my parents for one in Hawaii.

I booked RCI exchange and found it said if someone else other than the person who booked used that property, I should pay for gift certificate.

I am a joint tenant on the deed (actually my parents bought, but I signed my name somewhere on the contract). But on the booking screen, I only saw my father's name. In that case, do I still have to buy a gift certificate, or not?

If anybody knows the system, please reply.

If your name is not on the Confirmation from RCI then you'll want to get a guest certificate. The hotel will not allow you to check in unless your name is on the exhange. Although your name may be on the dead, it might not be registered with RCI. I'm not sure you can do that with father/son. I know you can do it with Husband/Wife. Someone will have better info on that.

It's actually a "Guest Certificate."

Are you sure your name is on the deed, or are you just a co-signer on the loan?

Did your father open ther RCI Acct. or did you?

If you are on the deed, perhaps when your RCI Acct. was opened, both names were not put on the Acct. You should call RCI and see what you need to do to rectify this.

I called HGVC Owner Service. HGV's RCI exchange rep was nice.

She said I was an additional member and did not have to pay for the guest certificate, but I still had to call them to add my name to the order information as a guest for the stay.

I booked Coral Resort Hilton Head, SC this summer to use our rescue points.
Transaction fee was 103, and cleaning fee was 42 (because it's short stay less than 7 nights). Not bad.
