I've got a question and the HGVC rep couldn't answer it.

When trying to book an RCI Exchange reservation, you have to put a resort # down and check-in date.

Now, HGVC lists how many points for 7-night as well as "nightly" for a weekday or a weekend.

The question I had is, when you look at RCI's website for directories, you can sort by resorts that offer nightly points, and resorts that offer weekly. But it seems there aren't that many that offer nightly as opposed to weekly.

The question I asked is that, can you book a weekly, but only use like 4 "days" worth of points?

All the rep said was that if you requested X nights, that's what they had to give you, but it didn't really answer the question.

I am not positive but fairly sure that if you want less than a week and only want to use points for those nights you would have to book into a resort that has nightly stays (or points). Otherwise you would have to book a full week and use a full weeks number of points even if you only wanted to stay part of the week.

You are right that there are more weekly resorts than points resorts.

A year ago we were trying to find a week in Cabo and the HGVC counselor found us a week in a resort with nightly stays. We could not put it on hold as we could have a weekly RCI resort so I told him we would think about it and call back....By the time we called back some of those nights were gone so we did not take it. Eventually they did find us a week.

Hopes this helps answer your question.
