Not sure where to ask this. I have 4 weeks currently banked with RCI for a total of 50 credits. 2 deposits expire June of 2017 and 2 expire Dec, 2017.

In order to try to exchange into a resort that I might want I need to combine all my deposits. When I went to the combine deposit screen on RCI's website it shows deposits that can be combined is only the 2 that expire June, 2017, deposited in Dec., 2013. Deposits not eligible to combine are the 2 that expire Dec., 2017, they were deposited in Dec., 2014.

I thought that you could combine all deposited weeks paying one combine fee. Has this changed? The 2 that expire in June do not give me enough credits(18 combined) to pull any resort that I might want.

Anyone have any experience with combing that may know why I can't combine all my deposits?

If the deposit is tied to an angoing search, it is not "eligible" for combining, since you lose the priority on the search date when you combine. You should be able to call and have a rep do this for you, since the rep can document you were given that information when you combined the deposits.

If you combine the deposits expiring December 2017, they will actually expire sooner-- November, 2017. I'm not sure if that would stop you from combining them, though.

I find that RCI's website is incredibly buggy. Sometimes, all it takes is waiting a few hours, then trying again.

Judy's right: Perhaps the website is preventing you from combining the December 2017 TPUs since you'd actually lose a month's trade window. But maybe you could call RCI and see if they'd override this if it's worth it to you.

I don't think losing a month of trading would stop the RCI website from letting you combine deposits. In fact, I combined a bunch of deposits last year and lost a few months of trading by doing it.

I think you have something else going on here. Can you post exactly what it says about the weeks being ineligible for deposit?

Thank you all for your help. I just checked again on my RCI Account. Under combine deposits it says: Deposits eligible to combine and lists the 2 that expires in June, 2017 below that it says Deposits not eligible to combine and when I click on it the 2 that expires in Dec, 2017 show. It does not say anything else. I don't have any searches going on. I will have to call RCI to find out what is going on.

On second thought, I believe I've also lost a month or two with combinations before, so it must be a glitch.

To the OP, would appreciate knowing the outcome as I may have to do this myself in the near future.

Hmm, dunno. Are the two that expire in December 2017 at the same resort?

Wait...I just thought of something. Some resorts will not let you deposit more than two years ahead. So you might have told RCI that you will be making the deposit, but the resort could be sitting on it and not actually making the deposit till December 2015. Could that be it?

UPDATE: I called RCI was told that even though I had deposited the weeks the resort had not confirmed the weeks. I explained that yes they had confirmed the weeks as I had and gave RCI the confirmation numbers when I deposited the weeks. Told him I have been depositing these same 2 weeks with RCI since 1986. I have to request my weeks in writing and then once I receive written confirmation from the resort I can then deposit them with RCI. He put me on hold for a long time and then came back and said that they have not received written confirmation for the 2 weeks that were deposited Dec. 2014 from my resort. He then put me on hold again for a long time. Then came back and assured me that the finance office was closed on the weekend but that my account would be fixed first thing Monday morning. If it was not fixed when I checked it on Monday afternoon to call them back. This was on Saturday. As of right now at 11:30 AM the account is still not fixed. I will wait until tomorrow check it again and if still wrong I will call the resort first and then RCI.

I will let you all know how it turns out.

How bizarre that you wouldn't get a notice or something a month or two after depositing that there was a problem. And to have to phone twice, ugh!!

Glad you found out what the problem was - it might help another TUGger who finds themselves in the same boat. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

UPDATE 2: It gets even more bizarre. This morning (Tuesday) There was an email that showed up overnight from RCI stating that, "Due to circumstances beyond their control my 2 weeks were being returned to me and that I should contact my resort." Then when I went online to get the phone number for RCI, both weeks are now in my account ready to use or combine. I skipped the phone calls and combined all 4 weeks and received confirmation of the combined weeks. I also checked my credit card and the combine fee was charged to my account.

Now I will see if they come back and change anything. This is the first time I have any issue with depositing my 2 weeks with RCI since purchasing them in 1986. I am hoping that everything is corrected and I don't have this problem again.
