I have only noticed this for some Wyndham properties thus far.
The change is taking place in BOTH RCI WEEKS and RCI POINTS.
If you login to book a resort like Wyndham Kingsgate in Williamsburg VA, you can now book a week (7 nights) and have an option of checking in any day of the week you want.
As an example, here is availability for October 2025.
Any of the days shaded blue can be checked into for 7 nights. However, you must book 7 nights. If you are are in a points account, you don’t have an option to book fewer than 7 nights (at least when using the main resort code.
History:
Pre-covid you could book Wyndham resorts like this using points and book anything from 3 nights to 21 nights (points account). Post-Covid booking options have only been for 7 nights with only Fri-Sun check-in available. All bookings were for the full $299 exchange fee versus the $269 or whatever 7 nights is in a points account. After this change, in a points accounts all bookings for this resort (regardless of check-in day) are the full $299 exchange fee.
So at this time, there is an improvement in both the Weeks and Points Accounts. Weeks has more options than it has ever had. In Points it is better than it was but there are fewer options with higher exchange fees (only full week option) versus what existed before Covid.
