RCI - Availability not showing up - Even though its there

Hi Tuggers

Maybe I missed the memo about RCI having availability but it not being available to regular RCI members?

If I check a resort with my HGVC account then it shows up with bookable availability.

If I check the same resort with my regular RCI account then the resort shows up - but no availability whatsoever.

To avoid confusion the resort is not part of the HGVC "select exchange" but can be booked through the regular "Exchange Vacations" tab

What gives?
 
There are often small differences between what I see via he Wyndham portal and my straight weeks account. Not a,ways, but often enough that I’m no longer surprised when it happens.
 
HGVC portal sees weeks and points, does your RCI see both?

There are a lot of reasons that one account may see something that your other one does not. In my experience weeks inventory can take up to 3 days to show up in the rci points account. It usually is a matter of hours but in some cases it has been days. Is you RCI account a US based account, if not that could explain the differences. I imagine HGCV would be the same regardless of where you are located but regular RCI NA sees different availability than RCI Europe. I am not sure if it is the same after x number of days or if some inventory remains partitioned off from the other.

What is the inventory? I can look to see if I can see it on my NA RCI weeks, points or Wyndham (weeks) accounts.

My regular RCI account is not US based, but from Europe.

I just checked the resort ID:4047 again and there are still availability in the HGVC:RCI account but not in the regular account. So I dont think it matters where your RCI account are located but i'm curious to know what you guys can see?
 
Yes my regular RCI account sees both Points and Weeks.
I do not see availability for it in my HGVC RCI portal, my RCI weeks account, or my RCI points account.

Wow that’s weird, I’d assume it would be 100% the same when comparing hgvc RCI to hgvc RCI.

Wonder what else you can’t see and I can see and the other way around.
 
and I also check rci points, rci weeks and wyndham rci and no availability in any of those.

Maybe it is like streaming services. You have to VPN into other countries to see what is available from there?

Do you have a standard issue American HGVC account, or is it foreign based?

When dealing with timeshare stuff, something there being a ghost in the machine is always an option.
 
Well I’m based in Europe and the currency is set to GBP in my HGVC RCI even though I’m not from the UK.

The VPN theory sounds like something I need to try :cool:
 
Just tried the VPN thingy and the result was the same, there are still availability.
 
The inventory that's available is in weeks and not points - I know because you can place the weeks on hold.

Does HGVC have tiered loyalty/ownership? If so, do you have status?

I can imagine this might be similar to the Platinum inventory that is held aside for such owners in Weeks. I no longer have a Platinum account, so I can't check that.
 
That date of availability might only be listed on the Last Call Vacations in RCI
