One of my fodest memories is of visiting family in Ashtabula, OH in the mid-60s and having my aunt take us to the drugstore soda fountain. I think my eyes popped out of my head when the silver container the chocolate milkshake was made in was set down next to my already impressive whipped cream laden shake glass. The last time I had a milkshake was last summer when we were bringing Chick-fil-A to my parents' house as something different for all of us. My sister had me pick up a couple peach milkshakes to share -- not peachy enough to be worth the calories. We don't go to Jack-in-the-Box, but the Stawberry Ice Cream shake mentioned in the article sure sounds good, even though chocolate would usually be my choice.

Yum! I agree that Del Taco mini shakes are really good. I always get the chocolate. Also, Chick-Fil-A has a frosted lemonade shake (I’m sure seasonal) that is fantastic. Recently found out about In-N-Out’s Neapolitan shake from another post here which I need to try. I know that there chocolate shakes are excellent.

Dd swears that In n Out has the best shakes, her preference would be chocolate.

Not fast food by any means, but the best I remember having were at a small family owned hamburger place in Hayward, CA, called Val's.

I think if you tried the Jack-in-the-Box chocolate shake you'd like it. Plus, they give a senior discount if you ask for it.

Please look at the best hamburgers and the best breakfast food from worst to best; Very Interesting ratings. IMHO..

If you’re in the area, get a malt from The Hilton Head Diner. You won’t be disappointed!

If you're traveling I-5 between Portland and Seattle, and strawberries are in season, stop at Mrs. Beesley's diner, near Toledo, and order a strawberry milk shake. Or go with a malted if you prefer.

Burgers are also good.
