It was only a few years ago that my DH was shocked to find out, from me, that Fool on the Hill was a Beatles song. He thought it was a Sergio Mendes original, because that's the only version he remembers hearing. I liked the Sergio Mendes version as well as the Beatles version.

When he covered The Beatles' "Fool On The Hill" on the 1967 album Look Around, Paul McCartney wrote Mendes a letter, telling him it was his favourite version of the song.

Saw him in concert about 10 years ago. Candy Dulfer opened. One of the better shows I've seen.
