I have allowed friends and family to use stays many times but have never gotten a letter. I don't know how many nights your reservations are/were but ours are typically for a full week so maybe that doesn't raise flags, if are doing something other than 7 nights.

Here is what the rules guide says, nothing specifically about third party sites but just about the people using it. If you are only for guests that you personally know, then I would let them know that. They can cancel the reservations and it has happened when they have found folks commercially renting them out but that seems rare. Somehow you raised a flag. It would be interesting to understand how you did if you have only been booking for a few friends.

Has anyone rented through Redweek and received a cease and desist email from HGVC forbidding renting through a 3rd party? I am aware that of the HGVC rules but it seems as if there are a lot of HGVC owners that do it? If anyone has received the email, did they respond confirming receipt of the...

I've not seen anything on the FB Groups I'm in either, but it could just be a "generic" reminder email that gets sent out.

I received an email from Hilton warning against commercial rentals.
However, I have not posted any listings on third-party sites, and have only made a few reservations for friends.

Is this type of email sent out uniformly by Hilton headquarters?
Will there be any issues with my friends who booked as guests checking in in the future?

If anyone else has received this email, I would appreciate your response.

Can you post a redacted copy of the email?

Is it warning YOU about renting out your units, or warning you about RENTING units (ie, beware of scams of people advertising rentals, blah blah blah)

I know a person who has a ton of points and was renting them out for profit. HGV caught them and cancelled all their reservations for the year. I think they ended up selling their weeks and getting out.

Interesting, here is a previous thread that you started last year on this same subject. There you were asking the question, and now it looks like you have gotten an email from HGV on the subject.

I'm a foreigner and don't speak English very well. Please understand. I own three HGVs. If I make a reservation for someone I don't know What will happen in the end if they find out? I'm curious. And will the HGV also check if I have received the money? My friend said he went to Hawaii...

details matter here. as I wrote in another thread we only let my sisters use BUT they have different last names from each other and me. Maybe to AI this looks suspicious but all they have to do is ask me.
