Question about Selling Wyndham Contract

I recently bought a new contract and will be selling my existing contract (this will be my first time selling a contract). My existing contract has 154k points per year and I have 64k points left to use this year. The new contract has 297.5k points and should be in my account before the existing contract transfers out (I haven't sold my existing contract yet and started the closing process on the new contract about a month ago). Whenever Wyndham ends up transferring my existing contract out, will they pull the full 154k points (64k points left from my existing contract and 90k points from the new contract) this year or will they only pull the remaining 64k points that are left for use from the existing contract? When I sell the existing contract, I only want to give up the 64k remaining points, but I am afraid if there are more than 154k points available in my account at the time they do the transfer, I will lose all 154k points. I appreciate your help.

Let it go. Your lucky to just walk away. It's your not worth complicating the process, it's Wyndham's program not yours. you should have asked Wyndham.

Yes the will take everything. Do you have a vacation booked, or have you taken it already?

I have one booked for the 90k (trip will occur in two weeks)and planning to book another reservation once I get the new contract on my account. If I book it before Wyndham transfers out the existing contract, will that "fence" the points so they don't get pulled?

Based on the experience of others in the past, as long as it transfers in the second half of the year, no points should be removed. If it transfers in the first half of the year they will take all the points. The problem seems to be that Wyndham doesn't track which points go with which contract.

And the other problem is you have no idea when they are actually going to get around to transferring it, since the process takes a looooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggg time.

Don't count on the first half/last half. I had a contract transfer out in December and they took the full points. Also transfers are taking a very long time right now. I have another in process. Access used to be faster. Now it is 10+ weeks to receive the Docusign, then another 10+ weeks for them to perform the actual transfer.

The last contract I bought (about a year and a half ago) took 5 and a half months so I think your timeframe is pretty spot on. When they took your points, did you have a reservation against any of them or were they sitting in your account unencumbered?

I had points available. Disappointing as I had paid MF on those points all year and the new owner did not have a chance to use them. A couple of years ago I had a contract transfer out in the fall and my account went negative. I could not book anything new which was ok, and it cleared on Jan 1.
