I grabbed a week at Disney's Saratoga Springs for 5/9 with my last retrade. Turns out we needed 5/16, which I grabbed with another week. This all happened in the last bulk bank. I was grateful another 2 bedroom showed up.

This is a Shadow Ridge Villages 1 bedroom, March 2024 week. I still have the 5/9 Disney week and thought I could pay retrade and trade up to a year out. Nope. The system will only a trade to March 30th of 2026. That could be okay, if only something shows up on Maui for 2/22, even a studio at Westin would be fine for my sister. I have her son (a nephew I have met just twice) at Hono Koa.

My questions are:

1) If I grab a full trade fee week for my sister in February (if anything EVER shows up), will I be able to add retrade and trade further out than March of 2026? My guess is no.

2) Am I able to add retrade to a week I don't really want her to have, like Hono Koa, and a Marriott or Westin shows up very last minute, will it let me do that?

I thought your weeks were enrolled.

Since you are back to regular retrades without any Eplus left, any exchanges are restricted to the original deposit expiration. Since your deposit is from March 2024, the expiration is now March 2026.

1) You could do a full fee retrade and I understand that you can add Eplus to that. You would need to make sure your initial trade is more than 60 days from now as you want to avoid the 59 day restrictions. You would also need to burn your first retrade in order to not fall into 59 day restriction right away.

2) Eplus retrades must be done 14 days prior to checkin.

I am already within the 60 days. I need 2/22 for my sister so I guess I will keep trying to get that week for her with the week. Retrade I think will expire 3/30. I am not sure. II doesn't know. I asked.

I have a similar situation -- my week will expire early March.
My plan was to exchange into a week and add e-plus.
Interval did not offer that option.

Did you already add retrade? I had added and went through the 3 I had. I really need to stop adding retrade. I move them forward to something a few times, when dates don't work, and then I am stuck. I never really noticed that the expiration was 3/30, and travel has to be completed by that date. I need 2/22 on Maui, anything at Hono Koa, Westin, Marriott, Sands of Kahana, or Kahana Beach. I would take a studio at Westin or Marriott but not at Kahana Beach. I wouldn't take a one bed at Sands because those are all garage structure view (worst views on the island.)

If it has already had Eplus added to it, it won’t let you add it again when you go to make the regular re-trade. Though it should let you add it after you make a re-trade you can go to the exchange tab in your my history and add it again there. It just doesn’t let you add it again during the exchange flow for some reason.

Are you trying expires when you check in? I think you might be confusing re-trade and E plus they’re two different things though they work very similar.. Your deposit expires in March because it was a March 2024 week. It was good for two years past the original check-in. That’s how all deposits work.

What you can do is cancel the exchange entirely and ask for a replacement week. That will be good for one year - what I can't remember if when it will be from but I believe it is from the date of the issuance of the replacement week. If you're cancelling more than 30 days out from the exchange date, it should still be an unrestricted deposit (but you'll want to confirm). You can then trade that for something a year out and then add eplus again on to that.

Basically, you're throwing away the exchange fee of your confirmed exchange and the exchange itself. If it was a Marriott or Vistana week, your replacement week will maintain the original preferance period characteristics

This. The strategy is to replace it just before the restrictions kick in to give the longest useful life.

I have a replacement week with the 30 day restriction - cancelled 5 days from check in. I didn't realize a cancellation at 30+ days out would not have included the restriction.

I figured once I was within 59 days any replacement week would include the limit.

This is good to know! thanks
