I went in May (Memorial Day weekend) of this year. You had to make reservations for the shuttle and it was very limited, seems like they reserve more spots for the hotel guests and not as many for the vacation club guests. And as mentioned, they are down a few boats. We were a party of 5 and I recall having to split up the group because there were not enough spots for all of us.
The beach is nice but at the time we went they were still rebuilding and there was nothing to buy on the beach, not even snacks or soda. I don't know if that has changed. There's one water cooler where the bathrooms are and thankfully someone makes an effort to refill that when it empties.
There's a food boat (I don't know what else to call it) that sells things like tacos and burgers that goes up on shore for a few hours around lunch time but on one of the days we went they were at a private event and we starved

, so please bring some snacks and drinks.
The chairs and umbrellas were plentiful. I also remember a massive rush for the last boat of the day because there were more people than boats. We had to wait for the shuttle to make several trips before being able to get on. They handed out tickets to make sure you got on the boat in the order you arrived and didn't cut other groups who were already waiting.
BTW they told us the $2 million they spent on sand to rebuild the beach was moved by the last hurricane and became a sand bar. So when you are on the beach and look out, you can see a $2 million sand bar!
