In 2016-2017: The Westin Orlando Universal Boulevard
became HGVC LasPalmeras, Hilton Grand Vacations Club

The name Las Palmeras means “the palms” in Spanish
Located at 9501 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, Florida.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club has converted the existing property into 226 deluxe 1 and 2 bedroom condominium style units and well-appointed studios.

One-bedroom suites offer a kitchenette and a living area, and studios come with a balcony, mini fridge and (?) inch television.

Two-bedroom suites offer a full kitchen as well as (brand & size) televisions.

Washers and Dryers are not in the suites/units
but are complimentary and located on each floor

RCI Guests:
Valet Parking is $6
or Free Self Parking

How tall is the building (how many floors)
Does anyone know how old the building is?

*The (former) Westin Orlando Hotel
has a lot of negative reviews on yelp!

Has the interior of the building
and furnishings been updated?
What are some of the improvements?

How far is the HGVC Las Palmeras
from Omni Shingle Creek Resort?

Located nearby at I-Drive 360, the heart of International Drive,
the Coca Cola Orlando Eye is the tallest observation wheel (400 ft)on the east coast of the USA. Free parking available for the Orlando Eye in their onsite parking garage.

PS Posting this in the Florida forum instead of HGVC forum since
I would like to add/get more information on the Universal Blvd area.

How tall is the building (how many floors) I believe it is 6 or 7 stories.
Does anyone know how old the building is? The Westin resort was open about 9 years ago.

has a lot of negative reviews on yelp! New management and renovations will help. It's a nice resort.

The rooms are being completely remodeled. It's modern. I did not love the design, but that is a personal feeling.

from Omni Shingle Creek Resort? 5 minutes by car

Trip Advisor ranks Las Palmeras as 4 stars but only #126 of 337 Hotels in Orlando.
From the photo, I count 11 floors. It's main attribute is near the Convention Center.
IMHO, you can do better at the other HGVC's thru RCI, or w/cash at www.hilton.com

We stayed in a corner suite there a few years ago, and we could see the fireworks at both Sea World and Universal Studios from our balcony. Nice resort, parking garage, nice pool area, not much to do there. The area seemed pretty quiet as well - guess there was nothing going on at the convention center.

There is a great deal of development coming to that area. Andretti racing/top golf is close to opening and the land behind the resort was purchased by universal. Nothing announced there yet, but it won't be cow pastures much longer.
