My husband and I are working on estate planning and have begun to look into putting our timeshare into a trust. We own a resale week at Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North (WKORVN). I feel comfortable that we are working with a knowledgeable advisor on the question of whether or not we should be putting the week into the trust, so that is not what I am seeking feedback on.

What I am hoping this community might be able to help me with is when it comes to the implications of this action on our continued ability to use the week (ie - I am not talking about complications with transferring to beneficiaries, avoiding probate, etc.). For example: Is Vistana going to use this as a reason to keep us from scheduling and using our week? Will their system stop communicating with us and instead insist on speaking only to "Trust"?

I expect that they will take any opportunity to be difficult and nobody can predict what their next move will be. Still - What have your actual experiences been with this?

No problems whatsoever. As an owner using our weeks and as an owner renting out our weeks. Our weeks have been held in our trust since 2008.

I second @vacationtime1. We have our Nanea, Waiohai and Maui Ocean Club weeks in our Trust. Just make sure it's clear who the Trust administrators are - assume you and your wife - so they have your names in their system. We had to convert some of our weeks into the Trust and that was relatively straightforward and the Marriott system is very helpful with this. It did require needing to file with the state of Hawaii though but this can be done remotely (your legal team can do this or you can do this if your lawyers charge too much for the service). For a while, I actually had two "accounts" in the system - my old and the trust - but since both had my name on it, the customer service rep (for reservations) could easily find my account. I would recommend that you call customer service, let them know what you're going to be doing, and ask them if they can give you the "guide" sheet that will walk you through what you need to do. I did this and their "guide" (I think it was one page) was very helpful and straightforward. (They may have changed some things with the merger so always helps to be sure what the process looks like now.)
