If your thinking about doing some pay for activities though Vallarta Adventures you should consider doing so through their website at least 96 hours before you plan to do the activities for the best deal. This trip were doing 4. So far it was the dolphin swim at the dolphin center which was incredible.

Outdoor adventure trip

The Vallarta Adventure excursion called the outdoor adventure is the best zip line I have ever been on. It begins in Nuevo Vallarta at the marina, crosses the bay in a zodiac raft, climbs the roads in a unimog, climbs the zipline mountains on mules, ziplines through water falls and features 2 waterslides then returns to the mariana after stopping at a tequilla distillery. wow

This activity is in the jungle and I recommend insect repellent like deep woods off.

Rythems of the Night is fantastic.

If you do get a chance to experience you should, imo. Our group really liked this outdoor, in a jungle theater show. As with any jungle adventure it is a good idea to use some insect repellent.

I'm going in June. I might avoid the jungle then.

My son and I did the zip line one June and almost melted.

Las Caletes is only so so

My opinion of the Los Caletas tour is that I would never do this again. It begins in Nuevo Vallarta and then instead of going to Las Caletas the vessel travels to Puerto Vallarta to pick up more passengers. That might be fine as it only uses up a good 30 minutes of your day. From Puerto Vallarta the vessel travels out into the bay loaded with up to 100 passengers and spends a good 2 hours to get to Las Caletas to look for whales. Yes, they found some but the experience is terible as there are too many people on the vessel. So, it is a 2 1/2 hour trip to get to Caletas on an overcrowed boat.

The big activity at Caletas would be snorkeing. While the water is warm enough it isn't very clear. I would rate the snorkeling as only so so, so don't go.

Caletas is a beautiful place and the buffet is pretty good but not something I would ever do again because , imo, it sucked.

Bil, in January I did two tours. Each one started at the Marina, then went to the marina at Paradise Vlillage, and then started the tour. Either way, it sure is a time waster!
