I'll be going to Puerto Vallarta on March 29th for one week and will be staying at the Golden Crown Paradise for the first time. This will be our third visit to PVR. On my last visit I took some medical and school supplies to PVR Pam for the outreach programs that her hospital was involved in. Have not seen any recent postings from Pam on this site or Trip Advisor. Has anyone had recent contact with her? Also, I have some Mexican silver jewellery that I need to get repaired. Does anyone know of a jeweller in PVR that does repairs? Thanks!

Last year at this time, I too brought some medical stuff for Pam to PV. I called her and left it at the hotel bell hop station and she picked it up. I haven't heard from her since or seen her on the board. Where art thou Pam?

Best Jeweller for Repairs in PV

I would heartily recommend Alberto's. We have been doing business with them in different locations for over 10 years and have never been disappointed. They stand by their workmanship and offer honest values. They are not a glossy, big store. They are a "manufacturing jeweler" which simply means they actually make almost all of what they sell. They have wonderful designs.

Alberto himself passed away two-three years ago, but you will still see the walls adorned with photos of he and Paul mcCartney making jewelry together many years ago.

The tiny store in on a side street right in the middle of downtown, the address is Juaraz #185 Col. Centro. Their phone is 222-8317. You can even email them in advance at albertospv@albertos.com.mx. Their website--which is out of date--is at www.albertospv.com.mx.

They were recently written up as the best jewelry store in Zihuatanejo by Continental magazine. (That is their main store).

I dropped off some things for Pam at the Cornerstone Hospital, just behind Gigante. This was just a few weeks ago.

Thank you for the replies. The silver necklace that I needed repaired was actually bought at Alberto's in Ixtapa. I didn't realize they had a shop in PVR also. I wasn't going to buy any more silver this trip, but that could change! Pam used to provide a list of the items that they really needed for their programs. Does anyone have a current copy? My list is 3 years old. Also, I just read that you are only allowed to bring into Mexico enough medical supplies for your own personal use. Has anyone ever been questioned on the items that they had packed for Pam? Last time I brought a complete diabetic testing kit with about a 3 month supply of testing strips. I was not questioned about this, but I also don't want any trouble entering the country!
