PS3 Question...

I know people have discussed PS3's here before and wanted to get opinions.

Someone I know has one that they don't want anymore and said that they might like to get rid of it. I thought I could use it as a Blu ray player and said I would be interested. Two questions:

1. Is this a good way to get a Blu ray player? Will it do a good job at that or should we just get a Blu ray player?

2. What sort of price do you think it should be? I have no idea how much they cost- the person who is offering it said "Name your price"- I thought $50 but is that too much or too little?

Thanks for any opinions.

We have a ps3 320 gig that we use for blue ray occasionally. Net Flix streams through the ps3's so you can watch many offerings if you subscribe. You can also play games with people all over the word when your ps3 is conected to the internet.

Offer the $50 and see what happens. It may only have a 20 - 40 or 60 gig hard drive which is plenty.

Our PS3 is used 99.99% of the time for watching movies, including Blu-ray. It gives you so many options. We stream Netflix, watch DVDs, watch Blu-rays. We have 2 games. We played them for about the first week of ownership.

Make your offer and see what happens.

Cheers!

We have a PS3 that was bought with the intention to use primarily as a Blu-ray player. We have one game for it that we never play and have yet to actually watch a movie on it.
