Private Forums Don't Show in "What's New"?

I hadn't noticed this before, but it seems that threads from the Sightings/Distressed forum don't show in the list of What's New, but they do show up in my list of Watched threads. If the list of What's new showed private forum threads, that 2024 DVC thread should be at the top of What's new.

It seems they do show up under New Posts.

Yes, they do under New Posts. That is the way I check TUG everyday for years now.

My bookmarks are saved to Watched Threads. Then when I look at everything new there, I click on What's New. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to show everything and I need to make a second click on New Posts. Not sure why there is a difference between What's New and New Posts.

I don't see why either. I don't watch any threads either. I just go through all the New Post Threads and click on the ones I want to read. Everyone gets used to the way they check things out.

No. Sightings don't show in What's New or New Posts. Probably a good thing considering how busy the sightings board gets.

Nope. I'm wrong. There is a filter so you don't see things that have been read. So the sightings I post I have already 'read' so don't show up unless I clear the filter.

I would think those private forum posts would only show if you actually have access to that forum. I can assure you that sightings posts do show up in New Posts. Here is a screenshot of the DVC thread in New Posts.

I corrected myself a minute later. There was a filter preventing me from seeing posts I have already seen, and of course I have already looked at or posted all the recent sightings so couldn't see them.
