We are currently on our first visit to Kauai and are staying at the Princeville Hotel. We drove over to WPORV yesterday to see the progress. They are planning on having the models open at the resort in a month. We were not able to walk around the property but only to look out from an observation tower. These villas are in a beautiful setting. We drove down to Anini Beach to see what that was like......paradise! I can't imagine that anyone would be disappointed with this new resort. It is not ocean front, but we did get an idea of what the views will be from the different buildings. We are not disappointed.

We actually were their first "owner update" appointment. Price for EOY is still $25,000 (owner pricing) with 90,000 SP and a special interest rate for 1 year on 1/2 of the purchase price. They are expecting a price increase in March with 2 more increases coming over the next several months. At least this is what the sales guy said. Who knows.

Anyway, we love the north shore of Kauai (and it is January!) We can't wait to come back.

We are truly enjoying the hotel. The location and views are stunning. It is showing its age and the renovation is anxiously awaited by everyone here. When it is transformed into a St. Regis it will be awesome. The lobby is amazing. We are in a Prince Jr. Suite and we have a full bay and mountain view. We are finding that the water is not the only thing of beauty on this island. The mountains and foliage are absolutely gorgeous. Our room is large and the staff has been wonderful. We do miss having a kitchen! But we are allowing ourselves to be pampered and are eating out every meal. We are here for our anniversary.

Can't wait to see this place next year!

We were there for our 35th and our daughter for her honeymoon. The Princeville is definitely a place of memories for our family.

Scary to think they may invent a new point level after it's a St Regis!

The Princeville Hotel is now a level 6 hotel and they said it is going to stay at that level as a St. Regis, so the points will be the same..........20,000 - 25,000 SP a day. It is so beautiful here.

For anyone coming to Kauai we highly recommend the zipline tour at Princeville Ranch. We had never done that before and we loved it. I want to go again!

A salesman told us yesterday that there will be 3 price increases in rapid succession, totaling 18%, the first to occur FEB 15th of this year.

Every Starwood TS salesman I've talked to says there's a price increase imminent and wants to close the sale before the increase takes effect. Sometimes the increase happens but very often it does not. At WKORV, the price for a 2BR OV LO went from about $39K pre-construction to about $49K when they sold out about 5 years later - an average of about $2K/YEAR.

Most of the increases I've seen at Starwood are typically not very large - a couple of percent per increase. Don't let that put pressure on your buying decision. It's a lot of money that you are committing to spend.
