I'm hoping some of you can assist with a Portfolio question. We do not own Portfolio; however, in the past when I have looked at availability for a regular Hyatt trade, I have seen Portfolio reservations available. I'm not seeing anything today when I look out at the reservations. Does anyone know if the system has changed or do the Portfolio units only show under certain circumstances? I looked at 4 months out and less than 60 days out.

Take a look at Carmel less than 60 days out. You can usually see some Portfolio reservations there. It would be a test to see if there really aren’t any or if you’re just not able to see them. That said, I’ve had periods of times when no Portfolio reservations were available and due to it being off-season I knew that it was unlikely that none existed. Last week I was looking for a reservation in Aspen. There were 3 available for my time period. I clicked on the one that I wanted and proceeded throughout the check-out process. After the final click to book, a message popped up that the reservation was no longer available. I went back to the inventory to try a different reservation and all three had disappeared. Frustrating! BTW the Portfolio reservations only show up 60 days or less in advance. I just checked both Aspen and Carmel and plenty of Portfolio inventory shows for 60 days out or less. You might want to check with GO Hyatt.

According to the Club to Club exchange rules, HRC owners should have the option to reserve available HPP inventory at six months out. However, I agree that most of the HPP inventory has either dried up due to more people traveling, or it may have something to do with the "enhanced" trading between Welk and HRC properties in Internal International. I don't own a Welk property so I can't see what they see. However, some of the Welk inventory is often available in II, especially in San Diego and Branson. I haven't studied the rules enough to know for sure, but I wonder if Developer owned points (days or weeks) are not required to be made available through the Club to Club exchange.

I stand corrected. I meant to say 6 months out, not 60 days. Thanks for clarifying for the OP.

Thank you for your assistance and insight. This is helpful.

FYI: I recently booked a available Portfolio reservation (Studio) for Thanksgiving week (NOV 18, 2023) at Hacienda del Mar in Dorado, Puerto Rico. I made the resrvation on MAY 25, 2023 !

I hated having to pay the $60 fee (cleaning fee ? or whateverit is ... ) Which the system collected from me at the time of the payment of the reservation fee. ( That was new ... the system collecting the aditional "fee" (for non Portfolio members) at the time of the reservation , rather than collecting it at the Club during check out. ) But I do have the reservation. Even if it is a Portfolio reservation, made almost 6 months in advance of checkin. and I am NOT a portfolio member.

So your observation that: "BTW the Portfolio reservations only show up 60 days or less in advance" may not be the whole story . !!

See above—I corrected it to 6 months prior, not 60 days!

I am an HRC owner and was able to recently book a HPP reservation in Oct at Hyatt Coconut Plantation.
