How can I get a new/updated points chart including the Newport, RI resorts? The chart in the sticky doesn't seem to have the newer resorts to the fairfield program.

Thanks

new question

HI,

I have a feeling I asked a question that either no one knows the answer too or I phrased incorrectly.

I know the resorts in Newport, RI are now part of Fairfield(Wyndham) and am wondering if there is a point chart for Fairfield that includes these resorts? If I am asking a question that is irrelavant at this time, since Fairfield has been bought, please feel free to indicate so.

Thanks

There are points charts for all six resorts. The points charts first appeared in the 2004-2005 FSP directory. They are also online and available to FSP owners at www.fairfieldresorts.com.

Fairfield was not "bought." Cendant owned Fairfield, RCI, and several hotel /motel chains. Cendant bought some Wyndham franchises and other contracts and the right to use the Wyndham name on timeshares. Cendant split up into four companies, one of which is Wyndham Worldwide, which now has three parts: Wyndham Hotel group (manages hotels/motels, franchises, etc.), RCI Global Vacation Network (RCI, vacation rentals, etc.), and Wyndham Vacation Ownerhip (Wyndham Vacation Resorts, formerly Fairfield, WorldMark by Wyndham (formerly WorldMark the Club), and TrendWest South Pacific). The management of Fairfield/WVR has not changed significantly.

There are a couple of reasons why your question was not answered.
Fairfield/WVR is protective of its intelllectual property rights https://www.fairfieldresorts.com/ffr/terms.do; therefore people who have access to information such as the points charts are less likely to share that information with those who don't. Also, retyping the points charts for six resorts is not a quick and easy task.

Thanks for your response EAM. I was only looking for a link not thinking someone would have to retype everything. Again thanks and I while I tried the site first , as a non member couldn't get info. But thanks for letting me know why I got no responses.

Most of the RI resorts (except Long Wharf) has 1BD or 1BDPlus. For 1 BD the point value is the same as Kingsgate (which you should be able to see in the sticky). The only difference is the number of weeks in that point range. 1BD+ is about 126k, 105k, 70k, 63k

Long Wharf has 1BRDelux, 2BR Delex and 3 BR Delex
140k-189k-231k (Prime)
112k-161k-189k (High)
77k-94.5k-126k (Value)

it only has 3 season.

Prime is summer

Then shoulder around summer or X'mas
The lowest is around week 1 to 7.

Larry,

Newport in FF is quicksand, be aware.

I would think the best way to help is to ask you why you want to know.

Basham wife and I use to life there before we met and live nearby, just off the island. They look pretty good from the outside, especially location and figure the summer would be a good trader. In addition, I was thinking could if I could possible stay there for a couple of short stays, even if it was one night here and there it would be convienent. I realize they are not as nice as the larger hotel resorts but thought nice enough to stay occassionally.

I also have alot to learn about FF in general before I leap but wanted to get a feel for what I need as far as pts go. Why do you say they are quicksand? Thank you for asking and sharing.

Quicksand - the simple answer is that althought you may have the points they may not have the availability.

Well, living in Tiverton I'd rather keep my toothbrush there.

Day use may be valuable to you. Pool, parking etc. I've found it to be be one of the things of some value.

The FF leap is best explored on the Yahoo Group.

Buying a summer week, would be a good trader. I last priced a 2BR a couple of yrs ago at 8K being an excellant price and they do go much higher. Summer weeks rent 2 to 2.5K. That being so why trade, which would explain the lack of trades in both RCI and II.

Thanks Basham,

It is easy to go and forth, but just love the city in the summer and I love being able to just have a 5 minute walk to Thames St. Your reasoning also helps explain the lack of summer weeks on ebay and such. I wasn't looking to spend 8k on one. For that price I'll drive the 20 minutes. Thanks for you sharing your knowledge. so glad I found this site.
