Not sure I am posting in the right area. I just had a call from a company called Point to Point Destinations. I have never heard of them before and found them on the internet. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about them? They claim in we come in for a 90 min presentation we will get a free trip (air and hotel) to Vegas. I'm tempted but extremely skeptical.

Point to Point is a Canadian company. My inlaws own with them.

I am sure if you go to the high pressure sales presentation, they will give you the trip, but it probably has lots of rules and regulations/dates times etc that you must use to get the trip.

My suggestion is save your time and money and get a cheap package deal from Calgary to Vegas.

Point To Point Destinations (PTP Destinations, West Coast Timeshare, Vancouver, BC)

I've made a costly mistake - I bought timeshare from Point To Point Destinations (PTP Destinations, West Coast Timeshare, Vancouver, BC).

I've learned a lot of facts since and posted my experience and those facts on this web site:

www.TimeshareRevealed.com

Good information!!

Wow, I wish I would have been armed with the information presented at timesharerevealed.com when we bought our timeshare! Recently, we got sucked into a timeshare points system (Club Intrawest). I was awake that entire night afterwards running the same numbers in my head that you did on the website. The pennies-on-the-dollar real value is a striking number when you do the math. The lost opportunity costs are also very real. These are numbers that are difficult to calculate when you're in the high-pressure sales environment. We opted out of the contract less than 24 hours after signing on the "dotted line". As one can imagine, the hard sell came when I returned to opt out! I stuck to my guns presenting the same arguments regarding lost opportunity costs. I argued with Club Intrawest why our deposit made by credit card could be charged instantly yet it take 14-21 days to refund our money. They made some excuse regarding international business transactions, blah blah blah. I don't buy it! Thankfully we had paid the deposit on our credit card and were able to dispute the charge. Club Intrawest never responded to our credit card company and it took us 12 weeks to resolve the charge.

We've had much greater success in our vacations using Vacation Rental By Owner (vrbo.com). This summer, we rented a 3800 sq ft house with pool in Idaho for $1300 for the week! Now, we're trying to decide whether to sell our first timeshare for about 1/3 what we paid for it 10 years ago. Talk about lost opportunity costs!!

Our resort has been converted to points, so we're now being approached by Point to Point Destinations to convert. We feel as though we'll be throwing good money after bad.
